I think that’s why Quick Resume is so good, it just works and you don’t have to think about it.
Same here. It’ll be different playing as a new character, but I have high hopes for this. There were certain things I thought 4 did better than 5, but 5 did a LOT right.
Finished GTA Vice City DE.
Had a WHOLE lot more fun with that than 3. It’s funny, the story felt shorter than I remember back from the PS2 days. Actually checked Google to see if some missions had been cut out, but there was no way, since there would have been tons of commotion when this came out, lol.
Still such a great game.
Agreed. Like I was playing Halo Infinite after challenge reset, so once I was done, I hopped back to Ishin where I left off seamlessly. It just works.
Some games were really short back in the days. Vice City had a smaller map and way less missions, although much more varied.
It released 1 year after GTA 3 which is still insane to me. I remember checking the teasers on the dedicated GTA VC website.
edit: Direct link to the chart Hey, @Predrag (or anyone else in the know) any chance we could get a Threads integration similar to how it works for X posts?
Spoiler: A Call of Duty title was #1 for 12 of the last 15 years. It was #2 for the remaining three years, beaten by GTA V in 2013, Red Dead Redemption II in 2018, and Hogwarts Legacy in 2023.
Oh, and it had the top two spots in 2020.
People have a tendency to forget or were too young to remember the marketing blitz Halo got back when it was the top dog shooter. Halo 2 and 3 launches were cultural events.
I started playing AW2 a few days ago and I didn’t notice any difference in Quality mode after the latest patch, I checked out Performance mode here and there and it was a significant downgrade in graphics IMO so I continued playing in Quality which is more than fine for this kind of game. Still nice to see the resolution bump/improvements on the Series S version/performance mode on SX!
Northlight continues to be a powerhouse of an engine, the lighting in particular is breathtaking in places which adds so much to the atmosphere of the game. Also it’s a freakin’ amazing game with so many cool ideas, loving it so far!
Yeah, those were the days. Three years in a row GTA games and now we wait an eternity for new ones. I mean I get it, these have become humongous games and they take a lot of time, but I miss their incredible runs during PS2/Xbox and PS360 eras when they graced us with something new on a yearly basis.
I just realised that it was only 4 years between San Andreas and IV. But back then it felt like an eternity. If only it was still just four years between their games. Jesus.

You know, I remember they started marketing last year and think no one would care because of sports being an afterthought. Today, the business has boomed so much. I’m really happy for everyone all around.
Also, hell yeah to my team! Baseball, you’re next!

They still do this? Man, I missed those days.
Oh good they’re keeping 5v5. Glad that they’re testing it at least
Halo 3 release and marketing campaign was an event even in Spain! where Xbox has never done too good compared to other EUR countries, i remember a lot of ads on TV, newspapers, etc…
I understand tho that not every game can have a big or even not that big marketing campaign, stuff like Fable or GoW should and will have good advertising, while for games like HB2 or Avowed it’s harder for example.
Spent a real life hour on watching ingame TV in GTA IV. I loved those ads, shows and documentaries back then and I still do now.
I think GTA IV was the first game to have this, right? Ingame TV shows like this. PS2 era GTA didn’t have it yet. I love this kind of stuff and I can’t wait to see what VI has. Assuming it will have it.
Tried to find the thread about Xbox multiplatform route, but can’t find it. So I guess this is the right thread then.
There had been a rumor by that Extasis (or something) person that Xbox was going to slow down or pause the porting of games to other platforms after the fan reaction to Indiana Jones. I really doubted that and I would say this confirms that too.
"Continue to extend our content to new platforms”
Shouldn’t shock anyone, and as people have said before this stuff changes on the fly. I still very much expect that the next console will launch with games only available for that and probably Series consoles, timed exclusive yes, but definitely some stuff that won’t be launching day and date on other platforms. They’d be nuts to launch next Xbox with Gears E-Day and have that day and date on PS5 (Pro).
