XboxEra Community Hangout |OT13| New News? NEW THREAD

What are some good beat em up games on Xbox? Last week I played 9 Monkeys of Shaolin with my youngest nephew for the second time we finished it too, great fun.

Later this week my oldest nephew will be here and I’m wondering if any of you know about some (lesser) known beat em up games?

I know about Battletoads, Streets of Rage and a few others. Man I wish Towerborne was out now.

Different culture - etiquette on pdf, office ettiquete, etc. are all different from US/UK. Nothing more cynical at play than that.

  • “Boeing Runway Excursion in Norway”
  • “Horror Flight on a Boeing”
  • “Boeing Plane Explodes in South Korea”

vs

  • “Fatal incident at Swiss - engine from US manufacturer suddenly failed”

Lol. Guess which aircraft manufacturer was involved in that last one.

I guess Airbus is the PlayStation of the aviation industry?

These accidents are all tragic. But I literally had to laugh when I read that last one today.

(Might be a European perspective thing. But it’s pathetic for mainstream news outlets nonetheless.)

He did the exact same style of post prior to the announcement of Half-Life: Alyx

Indeed. IMO, Xbox hasn’t made anywhere near the mistakes that’s been manufactured… that said, shuttering Arkane Austin and Tango definitely fit that bill. I’d consider it one of the worst decisions leadership at Xbox have made in the last decade; I’m all too aware of the business perspective, and frankly I don’t care.

Agree completely. Arkane Austin should have been allowed to make Dishonored 3/Prey 2 and get back to what they normally have done. Tango Gameworks was my favorite Bethesda studio since 2014 when they released The Evil Within and to see Microsoft shut them down and then a few months later sell them off to Krafton after the massive critical hit in Hi Fi Rush was just mind boggling to me. If it was up to me, I would have put John Johanas as the studio head and have two teams, a bigger one for The Evil Within 3 because survival horror is hot right now so I see this as a huge miss on Microsoft’s part and a smaller team for Hi Fi Rush 2.

Sucks that I will most likely never get TEW 3 but at least Tango still lives on and I just hope that Krafton doesn’t fuck them up, Hi Fi Rush 2 or whatever else they may work on.

Yep, just a waste of talent. Still boggles my mind.

Couldn’t agree anymore. Glad they’re still alive

Seems Steam is gearing up to be more of a contender. Half Life 3 would be huge for them in promoting their Steam OS. We now have Deadlock and possibly Half Life 3 there could be more they use in pushing this OS.

Happy New Year!

Lol Half Life: Alyx 2 just to screw with fans (and stick to Valve’s thing of never making a third)

For the rumored new console by them, you think or just Steam? I’ll have to look up what Deadlock is.

I’m not sure they are making any console. I don’t think they have the financial strength to support it. I think their thing is to get gaming devices to adopt their OS.

That would be awesome. I’d welcome Steam on Xbox with open arms.

AI: The Somnium Files: The Nirvana Initiative is € 23,99 instead of 60. I loved the first one and I’ve been waiting a good while for this to be in the sale.

So I’m like…

But Starfield, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3: B&W, Sand Land, AC Origins, Oddysey etc (aka the backlog is like…)

Mayhem Brawler is a fairly good super hero themed beat em up with 90’s “Image Comics” aesthetic and looks pretty similar to SOR 4. It’s not quite as good as that game but a fun beat em up never the less with multiple paths.

FIght 'n Rage is really REALLY good! Deep fun combat , lots of moves , multiple paths and endings, unlockable characters and a host of other options. It’s very challenging on Normal but it has a really good tutorial. I think it kind of got lost in the shuffle of other bigger beat em ups like SOR 4 but it’s easily one of the best modern beat em ups I’ve played.

Also HAPPY NEW YEAR!
