I mean robot cop was marketed to kids as toys… Just cause something has adult themes does not mean I can’t and won’t be marketed to kids…

I’m sure the game will find an audience as Lego games have a special charm to them…

Where’s my Lego halo game ms

I am more interested in this than Genshin TBH.

Yeah but RoboCop had a tame TV series (that I loved as a kid) alongside the violent films, and had a ton of merchandise around it as well as tie-ins.

Horizon is only a game, and a 16+ one at that so not many kids will have played it - yes Lego games have a fanbase but I always felt it was more for the nostalgia of the subject matter (Harry Potter, Star Wars etc.) rather than Lego itself (as otherwise Lego Bricktales and others would do the business too).

So yeah it’ll probably sell decently amongst the Sony hardcore who’ll buy anything remotely related to PS, and among dedicated Lego fans - but really not seeing the mass market appeal.

Saying that I don’t see the mass market appeal of Horizon full stop - Sony seem convinced it’s got some massive franchise appeal but honestly I’ve struggled to find anyone who’s found it particularly memorable or is desperate for more…

Hope it’s true!

It would be so nice if my fears of devs slowly pulling away or not bothering at all with Xbox support because of their multiplatform approach turn out to be totally unwarranted. Because so far we got SE deciding to fully support Xbox day one from now on, Genshin coming, now this rumor of ZZZ, Atelier is coming and so on.

I’m not against their approach at all if they keep providing us with great hardware. It’s early days I guess, but this might just work out fine.

Your concern has already been proven unwarranted… the multiplatform releases didn’t just get released yesterday and, in fact, we’ve seen an exponential growth from publishers that completely ignored Xbox before no longer doing so - see Genshin, see Square-Enix, Marvelous, XSeed, etc.

This constant concern is exactly what @BRiT and I have talked about before.

Comparing the TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies gameplay charts, both Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Phasmophobia debuted noticeably higher on Xbox than on PlayStation.

I was under the impression that “Xbox players don’t buy games” and “Game Pass is ruining gaming.” What gives?

If anything, the last decade of sales data shows PS players actually buy less games, on average, than either Xbox or Nintendo players. Take with that what you will… Sony is.

Yes I remember when publishers used to publish data by platform, relative to player base Xbox tended to sell a bit better on many of the big Western publishers like Ubisoft EA. Last data I remember published like that was Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty and Xbox sales in percentage were close PS, despite supposedly being half of less the player base of PS. That said, for Japanese games it’s probably the other way around, but understandably.

Yeah, same. I remember looking over ubisoft numbers and seeing that also. They sold a lot more on Xbox than the size of the user base would have suggested.

Let’s see how Silent Hill 2 Remake will continue to sell on PS5 (console exclusive people!) because some really wise “journalists” on twitter before release said “who cares?”/“it won’t make a difference anyway” about the game not being on Xbox because it’s a well known fact that we don’t buy games! Can’t wait to see the updated numbers in the coming months!

The depravity of that mindset is that even if you thought it would sell very little on Xbox, like 200K or whatever, in one way or another you are saying those people don’t matter and don’t deserve to play it, and I find the fact that established journos say that stuff openly is disgusting, for another it’s a lie and games releasing on more platform is always better, and it being on Xbox would even lead to more PS sales, word of mouth, peer pressure and all that. I find no reason to hold that position other than fanboyism and complete disregard and contempt towards Xbox players.

I wouldn’t say yet it has been fully proven to be unwarranted. Xbox has yet to release their flagship titles to other platforms such as Gears, Halo, Forza and so on. So far it has mostly been “safe” titles so to speak, and I can’t count Indiana Jones because it’s not their IP and we don’t know if it ever truly was supposed to be a full exclusive.

So this “concern” of mine won’t go away completely, nobody can look into the future and nobody can know how things will go next gen. And speaking of concern, it’s not constant by any means because I haven’t spoken here about it since the last time people complained about it. I slowed that down significantly.

Things are looking good, but I’m not throwing a “party” yet, we’ll have to see how things unfold.

Yep as I’ve always said while you’ll get some families buying Xbox for Game Pass or some buying Xbox just for CoD and Fortnite etc, it feels like Xbox is much more the home of gaming enthusiasts on consoles as we’ve stuck with them through thick and thin - and many of us have fond memories of the 360 days and more disposable income now (if less time lol).

Whereas it feels like because PlayStation is “the default” a large amount of their player base are casual players who buy a game or two a year, usually EA Football / NFL and CoD…

It’s so funny seeing those “journalists” caring so much about accessibility options in games and how much they are against gatekeeping but at the same time they say with such ease “who the f cares about the Xbox fanbase?”. lol

Also fuck me I want CoD to get with the times on accessibility.

For such a massive franchise and particularly now being part of Xbox, I’m always staggered how much their games have zero accessibility options for the campaign and rely too much on QTEs and other annoying shit - I’ve given up on the Black Ops 6 campaign for now until someone does a trainer or cheats as I just keep fucking dying - I get into cover like it tells me but the flanking warnings are just piss poor.

I then went back and tried CoD WW2 as it’s closest to the old games I played - my reactions have slowed too much and I’ve quit in frustration at the stupid bunker QTEs, I can probably get through them in time but if the whole game is like that I just can’t be fucked.

Really disappointed - as I’ve said before, it’s shit that the best accessibility comes from smaller developers that take a hit in order to accommodate everyone, while the massive developers that could do it without any issues just take the piss and continue to treat a large proportion of players like twats…

I feel that the platform is more acceptance to other type of games than PS. It’s likely due to population there is filled more of casual gamers than here. It’s not necessarily means Xbox will sell more, but I believe they appreciate more due to the core base. The recent Circana somewhat proves my feeling.

Would love to see Microsoft get the AA JRPG’s from PlayStation to come over to Xbox. Like Granblue Fantasy Relink from CyGames and the Trails and Ys franchises. That’s all that’s left missing.

Agreed!

I’d love to see Trails on Xbox, I know that a lot of people adore this series. About Ys I’ve only played Ys Origin and Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana and both were great games, it would be cool to see more Ys games on Xbox since only Origin is available on the platform!

Completely agree. Fun fact, I own Ys Origins on Switch, Vita, and Xbox because my dumbass just kept forgetting I owned it…
