Lmao
@Doncabesa maybe you can ask to get one for review?
Already have a request in
I love when devs prove âpunditsâ wrong.
Everything these devs do is GOTY material so really exited to see their next game.
I know Microsoft sells a similar controller on their website so posting it would be promoting a partner.
IF Nintendo wins, I hope they stop at Yuzu
100% is their new game 3D? Thatâs what it looks like from this screenshot.
Will be really interesting if they try something else.
Dontk think so, its just concept art. Going from 2D to 3D movement would be a drastic change in their formula.
I say stupid stuff all the time but I will own it and say âyeah my bad, not the best takeâ. It was just strange Mcafree doubled down on it multiple timesâŚeven after release
Iâm ordering a new Series controller to replace the one whose sticks got busted, though the calibration tool really helped make it decently functional it just doesnât work properly for anything with shooting.
Anyway, is there anything too look for, a specific version/build number thatâs better or something like that, I havenât bought a controller in many years.
Nothing strange about it. Like many of his colleagues at IGN , itâs well established that he hasnât a clue what heâs talking about half the time, and has dumb takes 99.9% of the time.
Thinking more about Sonyâs insane marketing budget (which surely cutting back would be a way to boost profits) I was wondering what approach people think might work best for Xbox?
Nintendo have their folksy family / friend adverts on TV regularly (particularly in the holidays) advertising their family-friendly games which appears to be catnip to parents / grandparents (they did the same during the Wii generation when I had a job in retail and jeez did it work, so many people coming in asking for it as they saw happy families).
Theyâve then got strong online marketing for their titles such as Metroid that are maybe more for enthusiasts.
Sony donât seem to have a set approach, apart from their ads having to suggest PlayStation is cool (in a similar way to Apple I guess) and more go for blanket marketing it feels - all year round you often canât go a day without seeing multiple ads of theirs.
Also as they also seem to grab the marketing rights on almost every game, so their logo seems to appear everywhere - which I guess is their approach, hit us over the head with it till itâs in there.
Ignoring any future strategy stuff (as that gets political fast), how would you like to see Xbox marketed?
I loved the Series X ad âPower Your Dreamsâ with that âNo Ordinary Loveâ song playing as they showed us multiple game universes before having Master Chief land (so disappointing Infinite wasnât ready in time) - and would love to see more like it.
Starfieldâs ad was good too, but they only showed it a few times on UK TV and unfortunately for me the game while good couldnât live up to the hype they created - think Mass Effect 2 might be the only game that could have though!
Was this Ryan Mccaffrey from Xbox Unlocked?
I donât remember this but if so thatâs a really bad take .
Yeah canât find it now but he said Grounded should be canceled and the devs put to work on Elder Scrolls 6. Cause you know, 13 people who havenât worked on Elder Scrolls before are going to make a difference.
I donât think Xbox has a marketing problem they simply choose to do grass root marketing through the fans and perhaps theyâre just waiting to have certain things set. Just look at some of the marketing they.ve done like the All Access one with ALL 4 ONE
They have a passionate and creative team behind this. I bet their COD marketing would be better than before.
@Doncabesa has said a few times on the podcast that his kids see Xbox and Game Pass ads a lot all over video social media, and Iâd agree - I get a lot of preroll Xbox stuff on YouTube.
I think PlayStation spend millions to retain the mindshare in the public consiousness, and Xbox just⌠donât. And whilst I think that does feel a bit strange, Xbox are accutely aware that if theyâre going to really push the marketing they need something to sell like Starfield.
That will happen later this year.
The market is lining up for a potential master stroke, with three factors about to hit.
- The Xbox refreshes will come with a new marketing beat.
- Indiana Jones, Avowed and Call of Duty are going to be huge pushes.
- PlayStation are going to hit with their ÂŁ600 Pro console.
Those things are going to help MS, if they play it right.
