I would be shocked if Sony are not blocking it this time. They probably will self published it on PC, and not give it to 505 again.

Looks that way…announcing a game for 2030+ is bonkers.

Also PS5 might be the first Playstation console I will skip, as of now there is no system seller for me.

I love MGS 1-3 but I don’t trust him as a director anymore (same goes for Overdose btw), he needs the kind of editing that was there in the MGS1-3 days but it looks like there isn’t anyone now in that team to say to him that this is going a bit too far (which I guess started with MGS4). Good for him though that he gets beefy budgets for his games, hopefully Overdose and his next project will be more interesting for me than Death Stranding.

If they are making a sequel, it’s because they liked what the first game fid for them. Remember the game was made between Japan & a Europe studio and made with a smaller team so it probably didn’t cost anything like TLOU2 or Spider Man 2 and didn’t need to be 10m sales.

Yeah, I probably should change my words from awful to it just wasn’t for me. I had some friends that enjoyed it, but I couldn’t find the appeal or hook with that game

5 million copies sold is significantly higher than the “3” you declared in your original comment.

Yeah, there is no doubt it is a more then competently built game. The atmosphere was also exceptional. Just couldn’t find a thread to hold onto to keep me going.

Hearing about the sales for DS makes me want to say “Laugh in Palworld,” but I digress.

Seriously, was the show that average?

I mean, to be fair, with a console install base of 120+ Million + PC, 5 million might as well be 3.

I’d give the show a C, there were a few games I want to play. Death Stranding 2 looks fantastic, Stellar Blade, Judas, and Ronin.

I have to echo Digital Foundry’s complaint about these shows though, in that they cram too many titles in and don’t give them enough time to breathe and leave an impression. Though one could argue that might work in Silent Hill 2’s favor, as boy that looked rough!

It was a decent selection of games that will be generally fine-to-good. Nothing earth shattering. Just kind of cements that Sony is going to have a bit of a dry year. A lot of the games had no release windows/dates and just had “In Development for PS5” plastered on the screen.

How dare you. shakes fist

I dare someone to talk crap about Shadow of the Colossus and Sunset Overdrive based on sales. I’ll throw hands.

If you ignore all the overhyping on social media, it was a solid show. Present some of their first party, announced new games and few third party games.

But for me it’s was mid. Just my opinion.

Almost forgot about Rise of the Ronin. Gameplay wise that looked the best.

There’s a bunch of great games on PS5 I just think I reached my limit to their style of games, honestly they’ve been the same expectations for like a decade now, I don’t know how more people aren’t getting tired of it :skull:. I think Naughty Dog might have something really new and unique with their new IP.

I played Yakuza 6 throughout the whole show. Only Rise of the Ronin and Judas caught my attention.

The issue here is that almost no one on PlayStation will play this, and even then, dramatic Xbox fans will use this game to cry about the graphics compared to Xbox.

You said 3 people were gonna play it, I said it was played by 15m

You don’t need to keep moving goal posts

I don’t think we can use Palworld as a comparison, even Spiderman, one of the biggest and iconic characters off all time is getting outsold by Palworld lol

Can’t imagine anyone Crying about graphics on Xbox anymore to be honest. Not after the Hellblades and Fables drop. Frankly even before then Forza and Flight Sim were showpieces.

Your entire rhetoric seems unnecessarily driven by console wars. You say “the issue here is that almost no one on PlayStation will play this”.

First of all, what “issue”?

Secondly, we’ve just established the first game had 15 million players. That’s not “almost no one”.

I’d play Returnal, Rise of the Ronin and R&C if I had a PS5 but I am definitely not getting a 500 euro console for those games. And yeah I totally agree that their 1st party portfolio looks boring and safe AF to me too.
