That mod is actually pretty incredible. You can really see the House of Leaves inspiration as you play through it. Just with the house section by itself and what it’s actually doing is really cool.

Yesterday’s news was a great start to uplift the mood, so I’m hyped up.

It’s funny to see some folks on other sites and forums saying MS doesn’t allow Xbox to market Black Ops 6 for Game Pass. The reason being that they don’t want to hurt physical sales too much.

Why can’t it simply be something MS agreed on with Sony during the trial? I don’t see people mentioning that possibility at all, except here. Plus, what are we even doing here? In every BO6 trailer so far we see “play day one on Game Pass” on Xbox itself I believe we had the ad/screen appearing at least once.

What is even meant with bot allowing to market, when they ARE? :expressionless:

People say that on the Xbox channels they are allowed to mention it but places like Activision or COD aren’t mentioning it.

Cog and Parris said they aren’t allowed to, which isn’t the same as chose not to.

I dont believe that will work on this collection. Since it needs GZdoom features to work correctly. Not sure about PC, but it definitely won’t work on console.

It sure does. I was a few days late to join up, so didnt get this til today.

I thought I saw someone, maybe even you or maybe Jesse, mention it earlier that it could be a simple matter - Where whenever Activision advertises BLOPS 6 they don’t mention GamePass, but MS and Xbox are free to advertise GamePass will have BLOPS 6 on Day One. :man_shrugging:

Seems awfully weird to split hairs like that. Then again, it might be the perfect way to get around any legal contracts that were restrictive for Activision.

It was dead before it launched: ridiculous price, absolute barren wasteland of content being developed for it in the launch lead-up, and failing to see the blatantly obvious signs that VR is, and always was, incredibly niche and effectively dead. I had to field comments for years about how much Xbox was fucking up because they weren’t doing anything in VR, and just like I said then (backed with monthly figures proving the tech was a non starter for consumers entering their third major recession in their lifetimes…), they were always right to skip VR - obvs way too much risk and money for something with such incredibly small benefit to an even smaller base.

Add me to the “arguing VR is a gimmick” train since way back.

Taken from Neogaf, this summary of new Doom details. As a big fan of verticality in Eternal it saddens me to hear it won’t play an important role, damn.

Also the much larger areas, while as the gameplay trailer showed we move slower…not sure how to feel about that.

  • There is currently no excerpt of the presentation on the web, as viewers were asked not to film it. This had already been done with DOOM (2016) at the time.
  • It was a pre-recorded video narrated by Hugo Martin, the studio’s creative director.
  • This was an alpha version of the game, mixing scenes with snippets of raw gameplay.
  • The snippets shown were like extensions of the sequences shown in the announcement trailer.
  • It was made clear that the game areas are much more open than in previous games.
  • It was confirmed that there will be 3 melee weapons: a flail that allows you to collect ammunition, a mace and a fist that creates chains of electricity between enemies.
  • The saw shield allows you to transverse the map, but it can also be thrown against enemies and be recovered while it tears their flesh.
  • Green projectiles can be reflected back at enemies.
  • Verticality no longer plays an important role in the game. When the Doom Slayer jumps, it’s similar to the mechanics of the power armor in Fallout 4 or Fallout 76.
  • The Glory Kill system has been completely reinvented. These are no longer programmed eliminations depending on the angle of attack. Now a small purple halo appears on the enemy, signifying that the player can execute it. Glory kills seem to be based on kicks and punches or any melee weapon, depending on the player’s choice.
  • A new weapon has been shown, a type of double-barrel plasma gun. It’s reminiscent of the plasma gun from the first DOOM, but with two barrels connected by a piece of metal. Both cannons fire at the same time.Another weapon was revealed, a single-barrel shotgun.
  • The nail gun shown in the first trailer, as well as the other weapons, interact perfectly with all the game’s mechanics. For example, a wall was shown on which
  • everal enemies were nailed.
  • The Dragon and Altan (the big mech) can be played several times in the campaign.
  • Altan fights with his fists and a double cannon. He also has his own HUD. When he takes damage, pieces of his armor break off.
  • Altan can perform glory kills.
  • Never-before-seen enemies have been shown, while the existing ones have undergone some modifications: One of the new enemies is a strange octobrain that fired blue projectiles, and a new one is a big quadlegged cyberdemon. Arachnotrons are now more fleshy.
  • The HUD is reminiscent of DOOM Eternal.
  • No weapon or rune mods were shown.
  • The environmental narrative seems to play an important role in the game.
