Take it as you will.

Not surprised Destiny isn’t meeting targets, I’ve tried to get into Destiny 2 on like 5 separate occasions and just end up getting lost and quitting. The 1st game was probably the most played game on the Xbox One for me. The game is such a mess on every level for me.

Perhaps it was fortunate that Xbox didn’t pick up Bungie in the end, just sucks for the employees.

Same, I just don’t understand the hype. Gunplay is good but everything else is just ‘meh’ for me. Though I have never been a big Halo fan either (I probably enjoyed Infinite most).

Remind me: did Bungie struggle and ask for anyone to buy them or they just want to be bought for leverage and more money?

The way they kept taking content away from the game and the fanbase just accepted it ensured id never touch any of these games

Im pretty sure Bungie has been struggling for a long time, they had/have a lot of employees and without a major publisher backing them like Xbox or Activision, it was much harder to stay sustainable

I think when the last layoffs at Bungie happened it came out that without the Sony purchase the studio was going to crumble

That being said, Sony got absolutely swindled with the price

They panicked after the ABK acquisition.

I see.

I have seen reactions that is basically equivalent to Xbox folks with doom and gloom take. Case in point, they’re saying Bungie is among the worst acquisition. I do question on the benefits, I’ll admit, but I can’t make judgment until there’s more data out there. I don’t know how The Final Shape turned out exactly, but I did want to point out before that the hype died down barely a week in with player count going back to same number as those who feels like the game is dead, even if that’s exaggerated.

All in all, I can’t comment on the benefits, ups and downs, and so on as of now. The only noteworthy I got was they made the call to cancel TLOU multiplayer if the report is accurate. My hope is maybe at this point, this will be their 343i resurgence. Granted the leader is still there in which one would argue that he needs to go, but we’ll see. Just need to be optimistic on the move despite the cost of it.

Based on all the comments about burn rate when they went to Sony, I believe the CEO that they had three teams and just way overextended. Aka, haven’t shipped anything from all but one of those.

That being said, since it was his call and he is bearing only a small bit of the pain…zero sympathy for him.

The story in Destiney 2 just isn’t good. I have no reason to keep going when I play it. Other mmo games like wow have characters that people like. I don’t feel like d2 has much of that

I wonder with sony now having more control of marathon if it skips Xbox now. I didn’t think it was gonna do well anyway unless it was everywhere

This, sadly, is the norm for big events/conferences.

Sony lays off over 200 people

“Sony taking over is probably for the best”

lol what?

Yeah, IDK if Sony can really teach people how to do thoughtful and careful budgeting…

Personally, I prefer having Hulst oversee Bungie than Pete Parsons who needs to go. People want to blame Sony but at the same time, Parsons is the person who’s been fucking up Bungie long before Sony ever acquired them.

Can’t wait to see the Horizon MMORPG!!
