That’s actually a steal considering 2tb expansion card starts at 250 dollars also they’re probably prepping gamers for NextGen when the price might sound higher than what we’re used to.

That’s true, but will most people really care for the 2TB? If it’s already not selling too great (in Europe that is, I believe it’s a lot better in the USA) and wouldn’t it be better to make the current XSX cheaper? Perhaps they will.

It’s even gonna be 650 euros here, jesus man.

Storage costs are one of the things that make me wonder how much the handheld will cost, I think others have said it but I really hope it can take the hot swap series memory expansion cards. They’re going to either go with 512 gb or it’s going to cost a lot, so if it can share the card that people already have bought that might help.

I think the 2TB one is a limited release, not replacing the standard one.

Those cards need to go away, it was a choice that didn’t work out and shouldn’t be carried forward. Sucks for the folks that bought them hoping they’d be able to carry them forward.

Yeah I think it did say limited, you’re probably correct.

That’s good. Maybe they can price the standard one nicely once that Pro comes out.

Speaking of Pro, was discussing this with two friends yesterday in party chat. Is there any need at all for a Pro for Sony? I mean at first it looked GTA 6 could have been a early 2025 release, having a Pro console bundle ready would be very logical. But what reason does Sony truly have to release one this holiday? What games?

It’s possible they’ll hold off on it first. Or not, but first let’s see them announcing the damn thing, lol.

I don’t know, if they do go away then it had better be easy to put your own nvme in the handheld to expand it. The cards are pricy but were consistent performance and hot swap so I tolerated them, and it would make sense to work together especially if the handheld is this gen.

Prices like these make me very glad the S exists

Got that for ÂŁ190 nearly 2 years ago

XSX matches PS5 price and the all digital will match the PS5 digital price. Wish they’d go lower but they probably don’t want to lose more money on it or plan to bundle it aggressively with COD this holiday and are crossing their fingers it’ll work.

2TB version is either for new users who want the best or for current users that want to upgrade to something bigger, mostly people upgrading I’d say. Like PS5 Pro, I doubt that will attract many new users, and will mostly sell to current users that just want to upgrade.

Still wish they’d do an external drive for Series S but considering they didn’t think about it it’s look bad hanging on the side of the Series S. If they had thought about it from the ground up it could have attached nicely to the bottom of the device for example. Good for people with OG Xbox and 360 games in disc format.

Being able to land on planets from space in that new Star Wars game is very hot.

It’s the bare minimum of what I want from my space games. I don’t care if it’s repetitive.

What time is the Metal Gear deep dive today?

Yeah, that remains one of the very cool things in the footage. I agree.

But what is with the black borders on the top and bottom of the screen during the gameplay showcase of SW?

We visited BioWare’s Edmonton, Canada, office for an exclusive look at Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including a look at its character creator, its prologue and opening missions, and more. We also spoke to many of the game’s leads about the name change, the series’ shift to real-time action combat, the various companions (and the relationships you can forge with them), and The Veilguard’s hub location. You can learn about the titular Veilguard, Solas’ role in the game, and so much more in our 12-page cover story for Dragon Age: The Veilguard

@peter42O

The bold part is for you. I know how much you prefer real-time combat. :ok_hand:t2:

If they nail this… Let’s go!

All of the pros of the design do not make up for the price difference.

If the handheld was this generation then I agree, but I’m like 100% sure it’s not. They absolutely can’t take those cards to next generation though.

I thought the landing on planets looked really bad lol. In the demo I saw it was basically flying into a cloud to end up at a canned landing sequence. Was there a better one where you could actually see things on the planet as u get closer, or are we talking the difference between a short black screen and a long sequence of a ship flying through clouds?

I agree, storage is expensive and consumers have made it clear they want options. Also, I highly doubt MS made the amount of money from going the proprietary route that they thought they would and I doubt their partners did either.

Watching a impressions video on SW Outlaws, this person played it for about 40 to 50 minutes. One of the more polished games he played at the event he said. He then mentioned Stalker 2 and how that apparently according to him was very, very rough. And said “felt like it’s still years away.” and this is coming September.

Have there been other impressions? Because while that new trailer looked great, all trailers looked great until we saw Gamescom footage last year. The latest trailer really looks like it’s ready, polished, but I’m a bit worried now.

That’s what it looked like to me. The clouds were literally just hiding a loading screen transition lol. It looked slick but it was nothing new or different.
