If they think like I would they’d be thinking ‘why am I making this thing that is played by tens of millions of people and I’m only making a salary’ and decided to go off on their own lol.

I think I’m more offended when people be like “Why you got guys that make Witcher 3 when you could have gotten guys that make GTA.” Like wow, aren’t we picky. I guess when they close down, it’s “oh boo hoo” but big name studio, “**** you. I hope you burn!”

It’s pretty obvious too lol. Releasing games with great critical reception and mass popularity means you can start your own studios because you have the clout to attract investors now. That’s why you see studios from devs of Naughty dog, Rockstar, Bethesda etc all the time.
If they hit big, it means big money for all the studio founders and they can sell for huge money later on. This was how the Playground games was created in the first place. Also maverick is not the only studio to be formed by FH devs, Lighthouse studios is also started by previous FH founder too and they too are working on a racing game.
You can’t expect Xbox to partner with all of these guys. Funny enough a lot of FH5’s online community attribute FH5 improved updates to Mike Brown etc moving on, even though that might be purely circumstantial.

I am hugely disappointed.
Personally I’d at least wait & see what they make & how it is, and whether it’s available on Xbox before being disappointed. Xbox can’t buy up publishing rights to everything, and as long as it comes to them I’ll give it a go.
I guess this game will be UE5 or lumber jack.
I think it’s amusing that Summer Game Fest added the State of Play event to their site but didn’t update the countdown date for how many days to count down to

Not surprised at this. The only surprise is all the bad faith discussions online about how great FF is still doing and they’re not having issues.
