Yep hehe.
All those things were stuff they were in fact working on.
Yeah, thatâs all I was saying.
I know theyâre working on a bunch of things but that doesnât mean much to me nor does he need to let us know about things that are uncertain in releasing to the public.
It just creates mixed messaging when the very thing that Xbox needs is direct messaging.
As for the handheld thing vs open Xbox platform thing, one is way more feasible in terms of logistics and earning potential than the other. If you were to say which is more realistic of happening, it would hands down to be the handheld lol.
Regardless, weâre pretty much saying the same thing.
I think people are excited about the idea of trying something new that might help Xbox but also start to bring an end to the walled gardens in consoles, as is starting to happen in other industries.
The same old console market, even with a handheld (particularly if Sony do one too), will likely just lead to the same result, with Xbox perpetually in third place and not much innovation happening.
The PC stores are exciting as it avoids the ânot on Xboxâ issue we have with some series, and also PC has way more unique indie games
Yes, I agree, it would be easier for devs. However, some problems with it, apart from the BC one you mention, off the top of my head:
- I don´t think they would be willing to give up on the cut of third party purchases. How does MS manage to get devs on board with the Windows Store? Do they face the Herculean task of creating a new store to unify Windows and Xbox licenses for first and third party titles?
- What happens with charging for online? Yes or no?
- What happens with Game Pass? As you know Game Pass PC and console are differentiated.
I don´t see it happening anytime soon. I think the only thing Xbox can do for now is to make their dev kits and Xbox console development tools sooo easy to work with, that devs who develop their games for PC still find worth creating a Xbox console version, even though the general Xbox console userbase may be shrinking.
They arenât moving to PC only because they make most of their money on console. Donât know how many times this has to explained.
This April Fools article is actually pretty good:
All you really need to read is the headline. Itâs conceivable that if Nvidia saw any reason to get into consoles that theyâd buy a brand like that. But honestly, going for someone like SEGA would make more sense due to the price.
But at this point with AI, the gaming market likely wonât be their primary focus until this AI bubble bursts.
Ni no Kuni 2.
I hate when some games force you to do some shit you really donât want to do.
Just let me fucking play through the story, experience and explore the hand crafted content by the devs, but no. Instead of keeping the whole kingdom building and managing optional, it becomes mandatory to progress to the story now.
I have to upgrade it several times, do annoying ass fetch quests to recruit people and then I can continue on.
Yep. Base defending on MGS5, the ball puzzles on Immortals Fenyx Rising⌠lots of examples of unnecessary extra parts to games which you couldnt skip. Very annoying
Yeah, for damn sure. I appreciate that most of BGSâs games donât do that. Fallout 4 had you briefly make a settlement, it didnât take long. But if I had not done some (annoying) side quests in NNK 2 already, this would have been an even bigger chore.
Itâs a shame because there is stuff in here that is nice. I like the kingdoms that you travel to and the story lines there. The combat, some of the characters, but this stuff drags it down. Itâs the same with the Skirmish battles, thank God I found some good tips via Google for it, because you also HAVE to grind those to be able to progress the story at times.
Today is that day.
Trend carefully.
Those of you in the Xbox Ambassador program may already know of this, but they just launched a new Xbox Ambassador Research Panel.
This is what they say about it:
If that sounds interesting and youâre not in the Ambassador program already, click the link below to join and then from the Quests tab click through to join the research panel.
Note: To join the research panel they require your signature via Adobe Sign and will need your real name, date of birth, and address.

Funny but ouchâŚ
Doesnât sound like they fixed the issues yet that DF spoke about. I do hope they pay attention to it sometime soon.
I'm wondering if the next head of PlayStation could be Mike Ybarra.Sony President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki becomes the new interim CEO of PlayStation from today!
â Genki⨠(@Genki_JPN) April 1, 2024
He will be in charge for 1 year as they look to find a replacement for previous SIE CEO Jim Ryan!
I personally hope he starts to bring more PlayStation focus back to Japan! pic.twitter.com/fekv8AajrE

I mean itâs like card games in real life but digital when you really think about it.
