Unless it’s a from software game I rarly buy a game at full price. 90% of ps exclusives I wait to drop to 20 bucks or less on a sale. I got nioh for and last of us 2 for 10 bucks each. Then if there’s an Xbox game I want to play I will just get gamepass. If you have ps and have ps plus u rarly have a reason to buy games new with free games every month. If u have Xbox well there’s gamepass. As a consumer I want to spend as little as possible. These are billion and trillion dollar companies. They don’t care about you so don’t care about them

I’m not going to tell people how to spend their money and everyone is in different situations, but don’t agree with this statement when you look at the state of the industry and recent layoffs. Being billion and trillion dollar companies doesn’t mean anything because what sales and doesn’t influences people’s jobs, what games are made, etc.

I’ll play Dragon’s Dogma 2 at the sweet, ā€œfilmicā€ 30fps with drops on Series X and not give a fuck! :popcorn_parrot:

About my buying habits on gaming I still buy the games that excite me day one, I guess it helps that I mostly buy physical and save 20+ euros on each purchase. Of course if a game is on Game Pass I will play there like all Xbox 1st party games with a few exceptions being games like Hi-Fi Rush or cool looking physical editions like Psychonauts 2 for example. All in all life is short and miserable enough as it is so I try to enjoy things as much as I can. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know what cost of living is like in Japan, or how their tax system works, but that is about $2000 USD/month. Or the equivalent of $12.50/hr USD (for a month of regular 40hour work weeks).

Up from about $1500 USD/Month or about $9.50/hr.

The original S.T.A.L.K.E.R (2007) and Unreal Tournament 2004 are probably two of the oldest steelbooks that I still own (I hardly own any physical games).

Plus both of them are PC which shows you how long ago that was .

I would be interested in replaying the original ahead of the sequel.

That indeed is actually pretty low. According to Google the monthly average salary is 3794 which is almost 2 times more of that.

Pretty much the same here, I rarely buy games day one anymore. Partly because I have a huge backlog but that backlogging has also taught me to appreciate complete games. Why would I pay more (much, much more) to play a broken mess when I can wait to get a patched up game, often with more content and have a much better experience?

Game Pass gives me the occasional day one experience anyway.

last gen the Xbox one X power and features showed in pretty much every game like a rock solid 4Kres on Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s a pity they haven’t been able to capitalize on the series X. I would hope they don’t try to compete next gen with PlayStation and just do their own thing like Nintendo.

Not long!

Exactly. It’s the Take 2 way!

I just refunded a game for the first time.

War Mongrels.

Trailer looked great, but when I started playing it, it immediately became clear how unnecessarily complex the controls are. It does NOT control/play like Desperados 3 or Shadow Tactics at all. It’s like Commandos on PC but worse, the type of shit that will cause headaches.

Avoid.

Lucky it’s not PS or else you’ll be waiting for a while to get a refund.

After playing Unicorn Overlord demo and getting entranced for the 8 allotted hours…

Don’t sleep on it!

That bad? Yeah it was instantly on Xbox.

It took a month for finally accepting refund for SS.

Awesome!!! Thanks.

I agree with Colin. Think about it, people will go watch a movie like he says for $40+ that last 3 hours but a $70 game like Rebirth is somehow too much money? Like, really? I have about 40 hours into the game and it’s already paid for itself.

The games you’re listing is why when people say they hate reviews, scores or this or that, well, this is why they exist. To separate the shit from the average to the good to the great games.

I’m someone that has no issue paying $70 for games. I spent $70 on Gotham Knights and yeah, that was a bad decision on my part but I have no one to blame but myself because I read and watched a lot of reviews and knew the issues but bought the game anyway.

In fairness, Colin and Last Stand Media haven’t gotten codes in years. They literally buy every game they play and talk about on their shows. They actually put their money where their mouth is. Hell, during last week’s episode of Sacred Symbols, Colin literally bought Pentiment off PSN and showed it via his cell phone.

Let’s be honest, most people never put their money where their mouth is. Other sites/youtubers definitely get free codes for the most part unless it’s a Suicide Squad/IGN situation.
