Hot off two highly rated releases with another on the day of the layoffs
probably the music
A bit sad. I hope we can see something good from Yager again in the future.

A Shounen series from Japan with exclusion of PS is very weird, I have to admit.

Now EA. You do have other quality titles. Donāt you dare go back on thatā¦
I mean, EA FC is their main driver and itās here to stay, I guess they should do something for F1, the last one cratered, I donāt know about their other sports games, if they are in line with expectations. Weāll see if they can launch next Battlefield not broken nor incomplete like last 7-8 years (even cutting campaign, imagine if Halo did a stunt like this), then they understood the importance of single player releases for branding and they are not going away.
Grrrrr, that dirty MS and their deals.
As long as they donāt go to the route of āevery game must be live service,ā itās fine. They should be settled with what they have. They can try one more, but donāt butcher the beloved franchise for your gamble.
I look forward to Star Wars a lot. Surprised itās still coming this first half.
Very excited about AC Red too, finally mainline AAA AC goes to Japan.
Which is a fuckinā shame because the game is incredibleā¦oh well, one more underappreciated gem in the pile. At least some outlets like Xboxera here gave the game the score and spread the positive word of mouth it deserved.
Hopefully this wonāt impact negatively Ubisoft Montpellier.
I hate that the narrative āJust make good video game and it will sellā still exists to this day.
Itās a good point, but I think this game was priced wrong tbh. The game looks cool, but I canāt justify spending $60 on a metroidvania. If the game was priced at $40, then I wouldāve given it a shot. I think the pricing had to be right for me to buy it at launch because I knew I was going to be busy with Infinite Wealth and FF7R . PLus, thereās P3R on gamepass, so by the time I am done with these games the game would be properly priced to get my money.
Surprised itās not more tbh
Cutting the campaign makes sense for Battlefield though, they take so much resources and the teams behind them canāt seem to make them any good anyway
Bad Company 2 seems to be the only ne people enjoyed somewhat and that was nearly 15 years ago, itās just a massive use of resources that just isnāt worth it, especially with games needing more and more devs to get games out and costs going up
This isnāt targeted at you because Iām guilty of it myself but this is kind of the issue, gamers have sort of been accustomed to only thinking certain games are worth full price, if itās not some FP/Third person game with top notch graphics then āIāll get it on saleā
2-d games have been hit hard in this regard, unless youāre Mario Bros charging full price feels like a DOA situation sadly despite many 2-d games likely having more content overall and being higher quality games in general
I kind of get it, thereās so much to play nowadays and more and more competition, not to mention things like Game Pass and like I said, Iām not in a position to judge as I donāt buy games at all anymore, I have far too much to play on GP as is
Itās $50 but I get what you mean. At the same time, Ubisoft did have 2D Ubiart games they sold for cheaper ($15-20) but also didnāt do that hot and they stopped development on that engine and its games
All good, gamers are def conditioned that 2d games that arenāt from Nintendo are not worth $60. I think what also hurts this game is being a Ubisoft game because the market is conditioned that Ubisoft games go on sale in a month or 2, so people are cool with waiting. The game looked interesting, but not enough to grab me at $60 launch because my personal GOTY infinite wealth was releasing in the same month, and a game would have to be very strong to pull me away from that.
Nice hearing the lads from Xboxera getting name dropped on the latest Bombcast.
I genuinely donāt like metroidvanias. If it was a pure platformer Iād have been more into.
But then again theyāre not just making the game for meā¦ And 300k sales in what, a week and a bit? Surely an indie would bite their had off at that?
