Let’s say Xbox Series is 25M (2:1😜) and we know series S is sold more then series X
For 25M Xbox at avg $400 BOM-cum-Ship took only 25M x $400 = $10B in circulation money
What Microsoft did with rest of the $12.5B of the opportunistic money? They invested by buying f***ing Bethesda and put rest of the money in Gamepass circulation money and still didn’t spent as much as PS’s
This is why there profits are better then PS’s

Moving forward they will save for ABK and put more in Gamepass for next 10 years

Pretty interesting article about Game Pass on the Quest.
I didn’t realize that there was a pass-through option that allowed you to view a 12-foot screen on a wall in front of you, I thought that was pretty cool.

Also the idea of wearing the Quest while laying in bed with a controller in hand just seems up my alley because lately I’ve been irresponsibly playing games late in the day while almost nodding off because of FOMO and doing things like completing Forza Motorsport events before they expire. But I could have done that while laying in bed and then just take the headset off and go to sleep. Again, a very irresponsible lifestyle I’m going to admit.
I also think this bolsters the idea of a streaming only Series P handheld console. But unlike the PlayStation one, a device that can stream over 5G mobile or any internet connection to the cloud (rather than your console).

I don’t know if this is relevant or not but there are glasses called Xreal that do something like that, I learned about them when looking up Steam Deck accessories.

I did see those and as you can hook it up to many devices it seems like another option as well.
I like handhelds but I can’t play them for a long time before I start cramping.
So I’m attracted to using a full sized controller and seeing a massive screen in front of me, while being seated like I was playing a handheld (like lying on the couch or in bed).

Been doing my dailies this way for Fallout 76 being away from home and I’ve been seeing the same screen, although I think it’s been like that for quite a while. Hoping it’s good news and that we’ll be getting more xcloud server blades in the near future.
Goddamn it stop trying to sell me on a Quest 3. I already got sold on a PlayDate at DotD.
I don’t buy systems on just one game (unless it’s called Fire Emblem) but damn it’s tempting for Asgards Wrath 2.

I don’t think seeing it next year is that unlikely, most have expected a 2025 release so Gears 6 at “E3” next year seems a solid bet

That’s not how I read that at all. To me it’s just someone who’s on vacation over Christmas and New Year’s, saying to his colleagues “see you next year, when I’m back in the office.”

That’s what I thought too but gears 5 was a 2019 release so who knows
They’re never going to cancel the deal but I think it was just a matter of them sending a bunch of documents as requested and including stuff that makes it look bad to help the FTC. We’ve seen from the insomniac leaks that internally Sony are worried about it effecting their bottom line in the future.
Saying that the FTC have about a 1% chance of winning in court. They’ve got their in house hearing which I would not be suprised goes against them and the appeal with the 9th circuit judges that I also expect them to lose.
I read it as they are returning to work next year, to work on Gears. A collection of Gears.
Not even a reveal next year? Clearly not a release next year, but a reveal in the summer with a release in 2025?
