XboxEra Community Hangout |OT11| It Goes To 11!

I’ve never stated this publicly in a widespread fashion because I would have my gonads stapled to a ceiling fan but I actually think that games should never have to adhere to a $60-70 price point and should be far more flexible.

This means some games being sold at $25, others at $49 and some even a $80. I think some games should be sold at $3, and some at $90…if the game can justify it with a lot of value.

The problem is that once someone releases a game at $90 it will be normalized for all other games no matter how large or small their scope. So it’s just pure wishful thinking on my part. The day GTA 6 is sold at $90, you’ll see the next NBA 2K regular edition sold for that much.

But I still hope some developers and publishers consider the $20-50 price range for appropriately scoped projects. If anything the upper baseline should be set at $70 for these massive AAA games.

To a large extent it could be argued that these games are being sold at $100+ anyways because those editions include digital items that many would argue should be included in the standard edition.

I paid $90 Canadian for the standard edition of Street Fighter 6 and passed on the $120 option that included 4 fighters that were to be released in the next year. Characters that I thought should have been included in the regular price even if they were to be released at a later date. So we’re already at that point.

Apparently TLOU2 is official, but I don’t know if it’s a new game aka $70. Can someone confirm it?

Its legit sad as a fan of new gaming experiences to see how Sony focusing so much in superbig and expensive productions makes them resort to release sequels and the same games with a new coat of paint over and over again.

Cultists will pay whatever Sony wants tho, no questions asked.

They’re kind of already doing that now with their “Deluxe” and “Ultimate” editions of games. Just throw in some cosmetic bs and some in game currency and you can charge people $100.

It’ll most likely be the same as all of their remasters.

$70 with a $10 upgrade for those who already own the game.

The fun in it is combining the shooting with your biotic powers, experiment with that stuff.

My opinion: It’s a Sony ReplayStation game. Of course it’s going to be full price.

A lot of government meddling when it comes to “tech” these days. Could have something to do with people close to the matter abandoning the ship before getting dragged through the political wringer. Just me speculating though

I loved TLOU2 itself, but I think it’s lame how they just release the same game again and again and again.

Next up is Spider-Man 1 Remastered Remastered.

I think it’s going to be full $70; 10$ upgrades were for simultaneous releases or “Director’s Cut” upgrades, but calling it “Remaster” specifically, seems to be an attempt at detaching it from previous release.

What would they even add to it? It’s already 60fps, looks amazing, and doesn’t have any DLC to bundle.

Another $69.99 per loyal fan.

Looks at MWII game time

I’d be broke if I paid per hour for that lol.

I saw the trailer and it looks the exact same. all the features this new version has could have been patched. they are charging for dualsense features. That roguelike mode seems awesome but not 70 bucks awesome

Should be a free patch.
