I was thinking maybe it’s two tone because we can swap out the white part with a custom faceplate? Allows us to just buy plates instead of a new controller every time.
When PS does more than Xbox, we sleep. When opposite happens, they awake and attack. I know, not everyone is like that, but sadly, they live and breathe only in internet.
Yeah I’ll rather listen to a financial analyst hired by Microsoft, than armchair analyst console warriors. I mean this information wasn’t supposed to be shared publicly so it’s likely isn’t a fluff piece. I know individual companies does their analysis differently but I believe this is true(more or less in the ball park at least)
I’m no finance expert but it honestly make sense, Sony spend big budgets on their games, plus they have to subsidize their hardware(Xbox does too), but they sold more, and their gaming business is not as diversified as Xbox( they rely on their consoles(and exclusives) and third party sales for revenue currently and that’s why they are expanding in the PC space and GAAS(which Microsoft is already ahead of).
They at least already walked back the statement. Though it’s not Xbox’s first time with this (Phil saying Control is coming to Game Pass flashback )
As for the outdated Game Pass ad being shown, yeah, it’s not surprising considering their low effort marketing/care there. Thankfully they are fully aware of that, that’s why they’re building their Xbox Japan team. I’m super interested to see what happens with marketing there once those positions get filled.
Sony’s profits being lower than Microsoft’s isn’t a surprise when you factor in Sony wanting only $300M+ AAA blockbusters and not much else. Add in Sony not wanting to put their first party games on PC day one which costs them revenue and in turn, potential profits because PC gamers are not spending $60+ on 2+ year old games. They have nothing else. It’s all about their box which you would think they would have pivoted a while ago instead of pivoting now and to make matters worse, Sony’s extremely toxic fan base doesn’t want Sony going beyond their box which is hilarious because that’s going to be what ends up killing them if they don’t pivot immediately.
It’s not only big budget spending on AAA games, it’s also constant moneyhatting and exclusive marketing deals (those aren’t cheap), insane levels of marketing (I think this is where they actually overspend)
