I called this shit too!!! Once Sarah Bond said the next 12 months, it was as clear as day. And a horrible showcase for me personally. Thank God, they’ll never ever have to do that again.

The funny thing is that the Nintendo cultist calling for Phils head, are the same people who makes excuses for Nintendo when they try to shut down emulations(really people who wants to play their old games ironic right lol), because they want to sell it to you full price, and they eat it up. I guess all is forgiven when you have nostalgia for Zelda, Pokémon, Mario etc.

This is really NOT what I want to see happening. I truly hope Game Pass subs will skyrocket (or are skyrocketing now with Starfield) and everything else in the pipeline. They can’t have been acquiring studios left and right with super promising games in development, only to just drop out. Surely when ABK joins this shouldn’t be a concern anymore, right?
Anyone with some knowledge on this can chime in? Because this place is pretty much the only place where I don’t see folks saying they hope it happens, sigh. Kinda crazy how much they are depending on GP, damn.
Satya is ruthless. I’m sure Phil and the Xbox team made certain assurances in regards to goals they must reach or there would be certain consequences if they don’t reach those goals or said goals seem untenable.

Market share in the USA. I think this is honestly the most attainable goal long term wise out of the 3 things I listed.

Xbox ecosystem (sales, MTX, Gamepass, etc) being bigger on PC over the console market. I don’t think this is ever happening. If it does, it’ll be way after Phil and Sayta’s reign.
If you’re worried about MS pulling out of gaming ? I wouldn’t be. It’s not going anywhere any time soon. Would there be a divestment in regards to their budget that they can play with ? Absolutely in my opinion.
Yeah, I can’t deny I’m a bit worried what that article says. That it could happen if GP subs don’t increase enough by 2027, it sounds scary to me. And it would be a nightmare for all the studios they acquired too, all those big games that are in development now. TES VI wouldn’t even come to fruition, in that case? But surely that can’t be the case. But yeah, it does worry me.

A majority of our customers are found off of our own hardware, I would hope by earlier than 2030. So, when you asked me if I agreed with this chart that the light green and blue depending on what colors you see there would have to be much larger much earlier. I would say by FY26, '27 that we should be in that position, or we’d have to make a different decision with the business.

The only thing that has changed with Xbox is people no longer saying Xbox has no games lol. The state of Xbox being strong with lots of exclusives leaves a lot of people feeling insecure about their console which used to get everything as a given.
Sony fans are naturally very defensive as they see Xbox making a lot of strong moves, spending close to $80 billion and the future is not as clear cut as it was in the PS4 gen. Just look at the IP that will skip PlayStation this gen- Doom, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dishonored, Outer world, Hellblade, Crash/spyro, maybe Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero and a boat load of new IP. As opposed to the XB1 gen where they missed Halo, Gears, Forza and SoT. It is a tremendous shift. Obviously real change will still take a long time.

Microsoft spent $70B on ABK and extended the deal to October to get it to close so they’re not going anywhere.

Their entire personality is based on their favourite platform, so when it does well it’s validation for them and their favourite product “winning” is them “winning” vicariously, it’s tragic

This worries me as well. i know a lot of people say it wont happen but you never know. Either way stuff like that going around doesnt do xbox any good
