Downpour also wasn’t the most polished game but had some cool things in it that had potential, maybe if Konami actually gave a second chance (and a bigger budget) at Vatra it could result in a great game but we’ll never know…that’s why I said that they should stick with a studio and stop going back at point zero with each new game.
About SH2 Remake even if Bloober delivers a good game/remake there is no way that the “fanbase” will acknowledge that…there is now way the Bloober team will win this one IMO. We’ve already seen a ton of negativity and countless nitpicking/stupid comments about the first trailer…like James new face/model e.t.c.
While I have yet to play RE4, aside from quality speaking, one would argue it’s not as faithful to the original in terms of keeping everything and more. RE1 Remake will hold that title for diehard fans; at least some I have come across. That all said I am not surprised about the reaction for SH2. Well, leave those details to diehards, I would like to see how it delivers, period.
Hopefully they will show some stuff that wasn’t supper great in the first one. It had many cool things, stuff that made it truly unique but also things I’d really like to see them doing better at.
Considering the amount of content in RE4 and being a AAA game in 2023 Capcom (this is considering how expensive AAA game development is nowadays) has done more than a great job with REmake 4 IMO. But yeah the two remakes that completely make the original games “irrelevant” IMO are REmake 1 and Dead Space Remake. Speaking of DSR did you play it? I remember that you were really excited about it.
I have it but have yet to play it. Been busy with other activities, sadly. But the big break is upon me, so I can start clearing my backlog. Plus, a bit intimidated by the game because as much as I like horror, I have this weird moment of being horrified to start up, but once I do, I don’t stop. It’s that one push I need to engage.
I once heard it was supposed to have a remaster back in the XBLA days but was cancelled or never released.
It wasn’t too long ago I played this for the first time, 2019, on GameCube. Hopefully there’s updated models and stuff, game could also use a fast forward function and turn off random encounters option
