Thatâs incredible. I do worry that this description is a bit too broad though.
a portable battery shall be considered readily removable by the end-user where it can be removed from a product with the use of commercially available tools, without requiring the use of specialised tools, unless provided free of charge with the product
Hopefully soldering wonât be required or itâs effectively useless legislation for most people.
I would hope soldering wouldnât be considered âreadily removableâ by any reasonable person.
I hope it expands to game controllers too. Everyone knows that the PS DS needs better batteries.
Speaking of controllers do the elite controllers have option to replace battery ?
This is kind of regulation we consumers want
Not preventing deals which will make games accessible for 10$ a month
Not as easily, and then you have to find a replacement battery. Looks to be around $20. It needs to get to the level of the normal controllers.

Perhaps new controller?
Kinda weird that Core has features that Console doesnât lol
He confirmed it is a controller, kinda, with an emoji.
Seriously, console needs the MP too.
Thatâs the carrot to get you to go to Ultimate.
I like that.
They canât cancel Gold and risk losing millions of paying subscribers, and they canât move them to regular Game Pass and lose them what they are paying Gold for, and they canât Add GPU most differentiating feature to consoleâs Game Pass and lose GPU subscribers.
A new lighter Game Pass with Goldâs main feature is a good compromise.
A good thing that the entry Game Pass has online multi-player âŚ
⌠on the other hand, I guess thereâll be confusion regarding upgrades to Game Pass. You canât upgrade and lose features, so you have to upgrade to GPU. I donât know if theyâll try to deal with that.
fair points raised. I also see this as the fact that GP family plan may be a ways off for now since it isnât included in this graphic

Going with NBA play. Call a timeout because the opposing team momentum is too strong.
Do you guys use iOS or Android? Iâm on an iPhone 11 that I got in November of 2019 and itâs really starting to age. Not sure if I should change phones or stick it out for another year. I had my battery swapped at apple last year so it seems wasteful to get a new device, but the lack of 5G makes my phone seem old. My battery life is also not too good.
I donât want to spend a lot of money on a new phone, but the type of phones Iâd want are expensive. Motorola edge+ 2023 for $700, or wait it out for an iPhone 15 plus or Pro max⌠just seems too expensive for all this nonsense. Rumored price is $900 as starting price for the plus and thatâs for the low end storage.
I havenât owned an android phones in almost 4 years, what are modern androids like compared to previous models? I had older android flagships in the past and it always felt like the batteries were always having issues with standby time. Google play service battery drain was a big problem in the past.
If true, expect some CG trailers of far off single player games to try to convince people theyâre still actually working on those.
Or theyâll just not do that, and place the foot even heavier on the GaaS pedal. Who even knows at this point? The Jimbo era may just decide to see a new watermark for arrogance.
