Yeah, From Soft is basically “hostage” by Bamco after Elden Ring success. Maybe it had a chance earlier, but that’s done deal.

Square would be the biggest waste of money for Sony since it doesn’t change anything. Square going exclusive to Sony would hurt Nintendo much more than it hurts Xbox
Fromsoft is owned by Kadoka , and I doubt they let go of them . Plus, if From is for sale then you best believe companies richer than Sony would outbid them. Also same would happen with square.

Why would Sony want to buy SE since they get all the exclusives that they want from them via moneyhats plus From right now is doing better than ever and found success with being multiplatform so why would they say yes to Sony? to go from selling 16 million copies of Elden Ring to selling 2m like they did with Bloodborne? talk about fanboy hopes and dreams.
Also if Sony does a move to “counter” ABK and CoD won’t they go after a multiplayer studio? I don’t see how buying From is gonna make them any good where they are lacking (multiplayer/GAAS).

I’m honestly wondering if ABK is going to scare Sony of from any large acquisitions. It’s almost set a soft precedent that acquired properties will need to be multiplatform which will hurt their business model (at least the one they present to the public).

I don’t think kadokawa will sell off fromsoft, but this doesn’t matter. If they sell they sell. Doesn’t matter how many copies they sell anymore. That would be Sony’s problem.
There are regular PlayStation fans, and there are Ponies. This right here is a example of a Pony lol.
That PC Gamer site is just sad. If i were Xbox, i would not bother to send them Starfield review code. We already know they will give it like a 5 or 6 out of 10 just because lol. Site that write stupid stuff like that are pointless.

Well speaking of Square I’ve been playing their Paranormasight horror visual novel that released this year, it’s got a really cool presentation and great character artwork. You can investigate scenes like in AI The Somnium Files with a cursor and the game has 4th wall break stuff like needing to turn down the voice volume to 0 to solve a puzzle. Only “issue” I guess the game has is that the story is pretty breakneck pace because the game is only 8-10 hours, but the game is super cheap anyway and it’s good to have a short game.
Sony buying Square would be such a net negative. Square put out some of my favorite games this year and last year like Octopath 2, Live a Live, maybe Paranormasight. I don’t care about their AAA games (including FF16), besides DQ. Sony’s closure of Japan studio points to me that games like these would stop getting made in a AAA and/or GAAS laser focus.

Well square is for sale. It’s a public company and all public companies are for sale technically.
I’m now seeing folks posting tweets that it’s very likely that Sony will go after SE and Take Two. People are just pulling shit from that place where the sun doesn’t shine, lmao.
And they give reasons why they CAN afford TT, trying to appear like they know wtf they are talking about.

Square maybe, but what’s the point when most of them are PS exclusives anyway, waste of money. But T2, doubt, because with their current cash on hand, it’s not enough so they either have to borrow money or use stocks, and even after that, they still have to go through regulatory scrutiny…… I doubt the top brass at Sony think it’s worth it, as they are not as big as Microsoft, who can absorb financial and regulatory blows(due to their size).

They finally fixed the CoD games on 360, I tried to play MW2 years ago and was so sad that it was completely borked
