Yeah, I think anyone who’s looked at subscriptions across the board knew that the price would have to increase one day - it’s basic economics. The “justification” Xbox has, with their 10% increase, over some of the others that have doubled over the last five years, comes from the fact that Xbox has exponentially expanded their first party suite/offerings, a healthy amount of third-party titles launch into the service (of varying scopes and budget), and the total offerings available at any time has increased since its launch.
I honestly just don’t get it.
Xbox got the latest Star Ocean game, so why the fuck not bring this remake over as well?
I believe the devs never worked or only once a long time ago on the platform.
I do agree with that one guy about Spider-Man 2. As great it’s going to be, it didn’t translate the mind of “this is next-gen and only can be done here.”
It’s Square, stop trying to make sense of it
Just assume every game of their’s is going to skip Xbox, it’s easier that way
It’s Spiderman PS4 but prettier, lets be honest
Which will be absolutely fine for many people but I’m done with that type of experience
Happend later than I thought it would for Europe. Last year I posted they would probably raise it soon. We’ve been getting gamepass at a discount compared to the us for a while now. Now we’re back to the usual with us paying more than the US due to currency valuations lol.
Honestly, only Flight Sim and soon Starfield are next-gen sensation.
You guys are forgetting that the Dual-Sense controller itself is next generation.
Honestly, you just reminded me that feature. I hardly hear it these days.
How could you forget that next gen feeling of blowing into your controller?
I remember that being an advertised feature for the DS lol. Quite similarly that feature was also quickly forgotten.
Kat Bailey with dat damage control though, like it’s OK people you can say that something from Playstation was not good. PS5 or Spiderman 2 selling well in the fall has nothing to do with the topic or that PS5 owners right now can play Diablo 4 and SF6. At some point she seriously said that she wanted to see a single player Prestige game at the showcase…like we make fun of this whole Prestige thing here but seeing someone from IGN saying it with a straight face is really something.
Also this was the first time that I’ve heard that Elden Ring is associated with Playstation…yeah that was a new one too.
Wild time for PS to be the disappointment of showcase for this year. People didn’t think Nintendo will show up because they only have Pikmin left, but nope, they have a game to say, “Screw your spidey! Here’s Mario!” People thought Xbox will shut up, but instead they put up and shut them up. What a wild time.
Only problem is, I have no idea how much I’m gonna have the time to play all these games in 2024 considering it’s a stacked year already from first and third party releases, good problem to have tho.
I love Amazon. I just searched for “Gluten Free” to see what would come up and the first “sponsored” item was for whole wheat crackers.
(for those who might be confused, people who have an intolerance to gluten and/or have Celiac’s disease, a serious condition that doesn’t allow them to consume wheat, need to eat things that are “gluten free”. So, having a product that is basically “super duper wheat” be the sponsored item is not great.)
The thing that baffles me is that Sony totally could have shown CG trailers of some of the single player games that are further out. It wasn’t like they had an “In Engine Only” edict for the showcase, since they were perfectly fine showing off some of their fancy new, totally going to be unique and break into the crowded market GaaS in this matter. Let us know what Bluepoint or Bend’s up to. Something.
But they didn’t. They thought they could just tack several minutes of Spider-Man 2 at the end, dust their hands, and get to back slapping over what a great job they did. Granted, Spider-Man 2 is going to sell huge and be big among both the hardcores and casuals alike, but we know fuck all about Sony’s first party lineup moving beyond this year, aside from moneyhats, Rise of the Ronin, and of course: Jim Ryan’s Pro GaaS Cooking.
Exciting stuff from Xbox and Nintendo’s studios though, particularly because we know the latter has a new console coming out in the foreseeable future.
3 new Switch games for me, Super Mario RPG remake, new 2D Mario and a new Wario Ware.
Probably the last 3 Switch games I will buy if there’s new hardware coming up.
