I think it goes beyond must play experience

The average joe doesn’t want to spend $500+ on a wired device that you have to put on your head everytime you want to play a game

Until it’s super cheap, wireless and basically a pair of glasses, VR wont be a mass audience item regardless of games

Exactly. The good news for VR fans is that every company seems to be trying their hardest to make these devices smaller and easier to use while also making them incrementally more powerful. I just read a story about how the Quest 3 is going to be significantly slimmer than the Quest 2 (which is already pretty comfortable).

I feel like 10 years from now VR will probably hit that sweet spot and become a much more digestible experience for the mainstream.

I also think we’re going to see a boom in AR/wearable screens as there are already several on the market that are essentially slightly larger sunglasses that can give you a 100" screen in your field of view. Reviews on those seem to be pretty positive as well.

The future is going to be weird and wild.

I bet it is due to xCloud that Xbox Live is ahead of Facebook and Prime

In the last 3 decades the bright and mainstream future of VR was always 10 years away :woman_scientist:

I think the best (and only?) must have was Beat Saber. Thats very slim pickings.

I quite enjoyed my paper 3D Glasses. Can’t remember the name of it, but you bought it cheap and they came with a driver CD. I think Doom was the first (only?) game for it.

I still have the 3D (paper) glasses fromt the Goty edition of Arkham Asylum for 360 here. Worked halfway decent in detective mode.

That was the last time 3D TVs were a selling point. This did die down reeaaaaally fast.

I remember playing Rad Racer for the NES and it had a “3D mode” and came with those cheap movie theater style 3D glasses.

The 3D fad is like herpes, nobody likes it but it just keeps coming back.

How disturbing does Hellblade get? I want to play it, but I remember being a little turned off by the voices in your head when I tried booting up the game once around the time when it got the current gen patch run-on sentence.
