genuinely, cannot think of two weeks where more absolute bangers came out at once. Tears of the Kingdom, Street Fighter VI and Diablo IV, absolute madness. Microsoft were good to push Starfield out to later in the year, tbh
I’m not sure a game like Diablo IV needs this level of marketing. Surely they could have saved a majority of the marketing budget and not have any negative impact on sales.
What I’m trying to say is people are acting like this is far into the future and gameplay is impossible.
I’m saying that this could be an early 2025 game and thus probably 1.5 years away. With this long in development, gameplay exists.
people don’t understand half of what actually goes into marketing besides the pomp and circumstance they see in large scale advertising, so anything that isn’t that doesn’t count as “real” advertising.
But not in the shape of what you think. Character models may only be stick figure or just colored boxes. Have a watch of some developer deep-dive videos to see what early game play actually is.
Did the first game sell that well? This seems incredibly ambitious considering the first game. I played it and enjoyed it, but never could have imagined them taking this jump.
