Everybody just shut up and let me be old…

Probably best to do that, but I can’t help but feel there’s a really cool reward or something if I do beat him.

Hah, so that’s how it feels

My older brothers had an Atari and a ZX spectrum. I was too young, but I played the Nes and Snes on some tiny 4:3 TV. Star Fox was so good and I’m pretty sure I was so bad at it. Secret of Mana was magical too and I probably only played a few hours of it !

I remember the first time I played Mario Kart on GBA in a videogame store : it was the future ! Those sprites, man. I mean, having what was as good as a Snes in your pocket was crazy at the time. I played so much Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance !

Console wars was not my concern at all back in the day. With my friends, we were playing what we had and could buy, so not much. When I saw my friend playing Ocarina of Time one wednesday afternoon, it was like discovering what a videogame could be. We didn’t know the meaning of framerate or tearing. It was just a game that felt special. I was obsesses by it and I could not even play it as my brother could only buy the PS1 at the time.

I also have a memory seeing an ad for Metal Gear Solid on the back of a cereal box. It feels crazy to remember that now…

It’s really cool to think about how I witnessed the history of videogames from the perspective of a teenager. From that young age, I litterally absorbed all those things and I really appreciated what was possible at the time.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was hype before the invention of hype. My friend had bought ZOE just to play the Tanker demo disk and it was so good. The intro was pure bliss and still is. Full game was a little bizarre to say the least, but I didn’t care much. Yeah, gaming was for nerds in the 2000, I remember.

I think we did a poll back in autumn and it was mainly 35-45

Not to me. Married With Children is STILL my all time favorite TV sitcom/comedy. I can watch episodes now decades later and still laugh my ass off as if I was watching them for the first time.
