XboxEra Community Hangout |OT| Safe Space no longer required (Part 1)

so Jeff says thursday we’ll still get something more regarding this, like a video presentation maybe, akin to what Ninja Theory/Double Fine/Obsidian made.

But no Starfield news, no new game announcements, nothing of that sort.

@PhantomFox @commanderbuck

Ubisoft and their freaking open world formula. But they making money so it’s the correct way I guess.

Yeah, I wish they would take more risks with the ip they have(where is Sam Fisher?).

Glad to see I’m not alone. Many complain about dead inputs but the double input is also an issue.

So no new game announcement but Gamepass announcement ?

I’m pretty sure there were rumours about a playable build of a new Splinter Cell but they cancelled it. :upside_down_face:

nope. I suppose Evil Within and Fallout 4 are the candidates leaked to be confirmed for now.

New announcements? “wait for E3”

People are definitely waiting till E3 for the 360 Oblivion to be on Gamepass. But seriously I hope it’s not just those two games.

In all honesty Disney is IP juggernaut and a legendary company. It is something between Nintendo and Playstation at the same time. Disney has the potential to surpass Netflix. The power of brand and IP is enormous.

ok the worst news actually is Jeff Grubb removing Elden Ring as his “by the end of march” on his list. The leak probably made Bandai Namco go back to the drawing board on some things :sob:

Elden Ring and Starfield. Two games we actually know nothing about but the hype is actually insane. We only saw some screenshots and a video with potato quality. I hope they don’t turn into Cyberpunk 2 and 3.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why do they hate him so much?

They actually like him. That’s why they added him to their shitty MTX mobile game. :upside_down_face:

Are those IPs, today, on the level of Star Wars or Marvel? I personally don’t think so. The ones who are on that level are GTA, COD, Elder Scrolls etc. MS has one of those, let’s see what happens in the future.

I personally only care about exclusivity if it helps someone that is last by a wide margin to not only be more competitive but also get on their competitors level and make Gamepass truly as big as Netflix so I don’t have to worry about the future of Xbox anymore. MS is gambling big with gamepass. It’s the right gamble but it’s s still a big risk. MS clearly has big goals here by wanting gamepass to appeal to 2-3B gamers. Obviously they won’t hit that number but 100m+ million is a big possibility with the right content. But you’re not reaching those numbers without full exclusivity to gamepass on every major IP you own. Which is why Disney is the biggest growing subscription service out there. They bought Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar (Biggest pop culture brands) and made them exclusive to Disney. Their growth is insane. Any of you think they could have reached 100m if Mandalorian, Wandavision were also on other platforms? Hell no.

My worry is this. MS has a tendency to go big on something and when they don’t hit their longterm goals they bail. What happens when gamepass (longterm) doesn’t hit the goals they have? Phil Spencer pretty much saved Xbox. I don’t want to go through that shit again.

Don’t worry about it too much. The main focus of MS is cloud and as you can see some games actually use the Xbox Game Stack Service or XCloud. Team Xbox has managed to let the gaming side be a part of Azure. And you don’t spend 7,5 billions and announced that you are still on the hunt.

This is actually the best time to be an Xbox gamer.

Tbh the two are not comparable for a simple reason. CDPR is a studio with one great breakout game under its belt (which I had to stop playing after a dozen hours due to how awful the combat was) compared to a studio that created an entire genre, and has released nothing but hits one after the other this whole decade at a regular cadence and actual multiple game of the generation contendors. I loved Cyberpunk, but it’s still extremely flawed to the core and that’s ignoring all the bugs and shit.

Most people looking forward to Elden Ring are basing their hype on a much more prolific and noteworthy history of the studio, that’s all. I do hope the game comes out great and not turn up like Cyberpunk, I just trust the studio more to deliver, that’s all.

So some exclusive, some not?

Sounds like Xbox.

Again, you’re kinda going against your own point here.

I hope you’re right.

You are missing the point entirely but go on please. Whatever makes you sleep at night.
