Something Something Pandemic…

Oddly enough, I used to be affected by the controller disconnect almost every single day but haven’t suffer it in quite some time, like perhaps early January. I hadn’t changed anything. The only changes have been the console gettings it’s typical Insider Alpha Ring updates and some of the games having updates.

I get we have a pandemic going on but Im tired of it being used an umbrella for everything. This is so widespread that any basic testing would have gotten it.

It may not have been, considering how it’s not happening for me at all now and when it was happening it wasn’t an every single day thing, but still happened way to frequently.

They have acknowledged it and are looking into it and even asked that whenever it happens for folks to submit their reports.

Holy shit. A team has been working on the game for almost two years, and now EA will decide if they should continue working on it or end it altogether.

EA can’t do GaaS to save their lives outside of sports so no surprise here.

“The Anthem Next team includes about 30 people, BioWare said last year. People familiar with the project said it will need to expand to at least triple that in order to produce new content and continue attempting to overhaul the game. EA has not yet indicated whether it’s willing to commit that kind of budget to revive a maligned game.”

Yeah this is getting axed probably

What does EA have to do with this aside from funding? This disaster is all Bioware.

Clearly there are management issues, Battlefield had the same problems - even Battlefront 2 did at launch.

We are talking Anthem here none of those other. Thats all Bioware for wasting 5 years of development and being incompetent.

2 cents on Anthem situation

Dudes been calling Anthem trash and a flop since it released so should EA make the wise decision later this week to cancel any 2.0 aspirations for it they will take some shit from people that just wanna fling stuff their way when it will take TRIPLE the resources to implement 2.0 and continue rehauling the game with no guarantee of success.

Better for EA (and Bioware) to just axe what was an overall bad game (it happens) and move on full ahead to Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Holy S*** 140million. This is rediculous. GTA is bigger than everything!

I wouldn’t have much hope for Dragon Age, according to that Jason guy it might be Destiny with Dragons.

It would be shocking beyond belief if Anthem doesn’t get shut down, IMO. As one of the rare people on forums/social media who doesn’t have a negative feeling towards EA, I do think that the entire Anthem 2.0 enterprise was performance art on their part.

Some executives didn’t want to admit so soon that the game was a complete and utter failure so they strung out the cancelation for a couple of years, but now I expect that they will give up the charade.

They are gonna cancel it I don’t trust ea since they stopped support on battlefront 2 at its peak

Battlefront 2 got supported for like 4 years for free so I dont get your point.

If Im running EA Im shutting it down lol. No point in it anymore.

Actually. 1 month would be fine, for me at least.

Weekend 1: Saturday = Xbox Studios Sunday = Bethesda Monday = Indie showcase show

Then follow-up stuff all week

Weekend 2: Geoff Keighley weekend, EA

Weekend 3: Sony, Square Enix

Weekend 4: Ubisoft, Devolver, PC Gaming

Each weekend gets a big event, then deep dives all the following week.

I hope they overhaul Anthem. I enjoyed it as is, it’s a unique game in that space. I remember playing the division 2 after Anthem, I gels like I was in chains, shackles to the ground. I wanted to rip them apart and just fly

Hmmm I think Anthem is getting axed. They’ll just tell Bioware to focus on Dragon Age 4 and the Mass effect game. A live service looter shooter like anthem would require constant updates and growing content to keep up, and the need to triple staff on it would seem like a death wish for EA. I suspect they’ll do what Ninja Theory did to Bleeding Edge and stop working on it anymore. Just sucks to see what has become of Bioware right now damn

I have very little faith in Bioware nowadays, I know people who worked there and Anthem was a shit show, and so was management. Doubt much has changed.
