Going multiplatform will definitely increase their profits on games because they’ll reach a wider audience, but they’ll lose the 30% revenue from third-party games in the store as console sales decline with the next generation. Especially if the next Xbox is a PC open to other stores like Steam. They need to find a way around it, and that will probably involve acquisitions to increase the number of first-party games and bring more people to GP. The ideal for them would be to acquire Valve, but I doubt that will happen.

I remember in the early briefings when MS was looking to buy ABK, how Xbox talked about SONY’s dominant position and how it was good for the console industry to have competition, that all changed as soon as the ABK deal was done and Xbox have just given up trying to sell its console a far cry from the 2023/4 days when Xbox Series sales were neck and neck with PS5 and you even had PS5 fans making out Xbox had done some deal with AMD for more chips
What would be more interesting is how much net profit the Xbox group makes, not behind record growth and revenue.. That’s a Football Club tactic, to hide their actual losses
Still thinks its an overall mistake to go fully multiplat(Which has not been confirmed and it baffles me just how much clickbait is on that singular thing). Still do. They are sacrificing alot of xbox user goodwill by putting more efforts on ports for rival platforms instead of finding new ways of improving the ecosystem. I do really think they need to start talking about the ecosystem instead of constant chatter about playstation this and nintendo that cause it really makes it look like they don’t have a care about the actual meaning of the xbox and its origins and such.
Sorry, just a bit annoyed with social media and how everyone seems all gun oh on xbox hardware dying or there be no more ecosystem and digital libraries being gone as well as whole slate of games going(When in fact that was not really the case). Just really focusing my efforts on my library for now.
Just wanted to add my my thoughts in paper, i do apologies if it does not match with any of youre personal opinions its just i need an outlet to let out some frustration and such(I refuse to do so on social media sites like X, where compassion and willing discussions are effectively extinct).

I’m not against Xbox games on rival platforms now and hope Xbox continue to have a big cap from when a game launches on Xbox to the PS5 I think with Indy Xbox may have had to bring that forward due to rights
My main issue is with how Xbox have more or less given up trying to sell their consoles with no PR push very few deals even over Black Friday or Christmas or no more efforts on BC, Frame Rate boosts on so on. Moves that made people think of getting an Xbox console. It comes across as the team has given up even trying to sell Xbox consoles. I would imagine they haven’t, but that’s how it comes across
I blame the ABK deal myself, it’s crazy that even now, not all ABK games are on Game Pass either
Still questioninig if they are putting too much emphasis on ports than on their own ecosystem, which is something you and i can agree on.
Also, although i do know everything is case-by-case at best. Still think they really need to hammer home that xbox players and users matter moreso than either playstation or nintendo, which i do think they are lacking any incentive to really talk about and seem to be hiding out and about like they know they will need to adress this in some point, but the longer they wait the stronger the customer apathy(Which you never want to have in regards to your products ever) becomes in that regard.

My mate gave me his PS5 Pro while on holiday, and I can say Xbox Series X is such a better console even down to UI and GamePass is so much better than PS+. Its clear that the XBox hardware and software team are doing their best with the Series X and also Gameplass is amazing
So I don’t think they’re putting more focus on PS ports myself. I just don’t like how the PR dept have given up trying to sell, push and promote the Xbox since the ABK deal and its not like the ABK deal was that great for us Game Pass fans since even now, so little of ABK games have made the jump to Game Pass
I’m fine with Xbox games coming out on PS5, I just like to see a year or 2 gap between a new Xbox release and its port to the PS5.
