For time of development discussion
4-5-6 years is the most common thing
There are games take 3 years
Like Gears 4-5 and there’s another examples like guardians of galaxy? and Shadow of Mordor /war etc
There are Games take 4 years And there are 5
And these the most common thing
And there are 6 and 7
That’s not a constant thing , it’s variable
It depends on the team and the game and challenges and a lot of things
Sometimes you can’t say this game took x year because They exchange ideas not more than that
Horizon took 7 year?
But Karots reboot took 5 years
ghost of tsushima took 6 years or less ( cause the canned project) and it was new ip too.
not every game will take 3 years and not every game take 7 years.
Another thing covid-19 is a big thing.
That’s why I put 2024/future as a few of those games are much further out. TES VI is probably 2028 or so. Indiana Jones I see being no later than Holiday 2025.
yeah i can see that in 2027/2028 Bethesda bringing new tech to TES and they will probably use photogrammetry for actors and areas. it’s TES let them take all the time they need
We’ll see but if TES 6 enters full production in early 2023, I can see Holiday 2027 at best. I’m not expecting TES 6 anytime soon plus Howard will be overseeing Indiana Jones and will probably have expansions planned for Starfield so I just think it’s further out than well, all the other thus far announced games under Microsoft/Bethesda.
I don’t count Fallout 76 because it wasn’t what Howard even wanted to do and was a cash grab by ZeniMax. Did Howard even have anything to do with that game? If not, then it’s 7 years between Fallout 4 and Starfield.
