I feel the controller handles are a little too close, but the only way to determine that is to actually hold it.
Not a big fan of the design, tbh. I feel like it’s a step back from the original Ally. Hopefully the ergonomics will make up for it, though.
Can someone explain if the whole memory thing is good enough on it, if you can please? I have no idea.
The handles might be a game changer. This actually looks more like an Xbox controller with stretched a stretched middle. I guess an announcement is in bound soon.
It will be just like any other Z2 extreme processor and memory configure of 64 gb lpddr5. Not comparable to even a Series S.
Not really what xbox gamers want. But good enough for PC players.
Not a PC person but I don’t really get what this product is… Is it just a handheld PC with Xbox branding? Or does it have meaningful Xbox related functionality that you couldn’t get on a SteamDeck or any other handheld PC?
I take it as Xbox first step into the Xbox/PC merger, this should be a PC with Xbox branding and an updated OS to try to get Windows on handhelds working more like SteamOS.
With my hopium being that the future Xbox/PC merged OS will be something that all current PC handhelds will get.
It’s a black ROG Ally …
It’s a black Rog Ally 2.
I like the design and ergonomics seems good, but the 7-inch screen is a red card.
I get Gamecube Wavebird vibes.
The previous model definitely looks better but this almost certainly will be more comfortable especially for longer sessions.
My prediction is the next Windows will not only include a Xbox UI/Mode that looks and feels like the Xbox console, but it will also allow you to play your digital Xbox library via BC. This Windows OS (likely Windows 12) will be available on Xbox hardware, PC and handhelds.
The fact that Jason Ronald is hiring for a new BC team is not a coincidence.
