Yeah, I was thinking similar. It would be very cool to get more detail at the game awards, knowing its history there but the fact it is front and centre means it must be soon. Showing it off without even a title treatment shows serious confidence in its ability to cut through.
Yeah, hopefully it’s in that ad for a reason, with Starfield and Forza there it makes me think the next Xbox game coming out is Hellblade 2, hopefully soon too.
Also wild to see Hellblade on big Xbox ads as a big exclusive, never would’ve imagined that back when the first one came out on Xbox like 5 years ago and I bought it the first day, iirc it was something like 40$ and some of the money made was going to charity, who would’ve thought lol.
What I heard off my family in Great Britain: No TV promotion push No radio commercials and no advertisement in the written press
Even in Cork we had a TV promotion for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom nothing for Xbox Starfield. I would say no matter what part of the world you live in XBox marketing could do with improvements
SONY have on Talksport Radio if what I hear was true in Great Britain. Since you talk of ABK it was telling that I saw a bigger marketing push for Dialbo 4 compared to Starfield kind of sums up the issue
Yakuza isn’t Xbox first party but Infinite Wealth is a huge game for Sega. Sega has high expectations for Infinite Wealth and Xbox should help Sega push it to ensure the Xbox and Sega partnership remains strong.
The game isnt on Gamepass at launch but let’s be honest there is probably a deal in place for it to go to Gamepass a few months after launch. So there will be two pushes for it… January launch and when it eventually goes to Gamepass.
It’s not just Sega that has high expectations for Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. I consider Like a Dragon to be the best JRPG game ever made. Sega is adding top tier Hollywood voice talent. The reveal trailer was great. I expect a 10/10 game
A funny thing about the Japanese games they get marketing to like Persona 3 Reload is that said Xbox marketing only really applies to the West. In Japan the ads are “neutral” or, in stores, don’t even mention Xbox because the store isn’t selling a physical version of the game. On the Atlus JP Youtube they do upload Xbox branded trailers but then delete them 2 days later and upload the same trailer but with all platforms.
Rather than look to go on circumstantial evidence. What I can say factually is that have seen more promotions from Sony or Nintendo compared to XBox.
I speak as someone who now basically only plays on Xbox Series X where the old 2001 XBox is the best gaming system I have ever owned have no issues with the current games or hardware that’s come from Xbox but I have two major worries going forward…
The poor promotions push from Xbox: be that promoting their hardware or games and also not looking to develop a Series X Pro, that is it.
It’s also coming up on holiday buying season so this is the time of year for them to go all in anyway. But as others have said they do seem to have been doing more this year
