Xbox Games Showcase & Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Direct 2024 |OT| SPOILER FREE

This right here is why I don’t want to hear nonsense about some “dark cloud”; if that was the case, this public poll wouldn’t be as positive as it is. Some of you need to stop listening to FUD… definitely need to stop trying to cross post some of that nonsense when the community has made it clear they’re tired of it :man_shrugging:

It’s crazy how last year was improved over the poll from Geoff yet big downgrade for SGF. Last year, Xbox landed at A with 53% vote. As of now, this year has A at 67% with almost same amount of voters. For SGF however, last year landed at B with 37% vote. This year landed at D with 40% vote, nearly double the votes. Take notes.

I was kinda hoping for Elden Ring like gameplay lol, I swear that game has perfected combat for me, can’t wait for Shadow of the erdtree, not concerned about Fable’s gameplay, it already looks amazing, Playground will deliver, just hope the soundtrack for Fable delivers, IMO a miss opportunity not to tease the soundtrack in these trailers, I don’t know if you guys remember but Fable 1-3 had amazing soundtracks, some of the best in gaming.

This year’s show is far far superior no question about it but I also think that with Xbox being more open to going third party and one of or possibly the best game of the show being multiplat (Doom) that it makes a lot of people happy within that audience.

People are still going to be disappointed when it turns out to be Fable and not Elder Scrolls or The Witcher with an accent.

That’s not a criticism either. I LOVE Fable and every time they show it I feel better about it. And I felt great from the first reveal!

Many years ago when Fable wasn’t announced yet I remember PG was looking for people on a new open world game, and iirc they mentioned Horizon ZD. I assume this became Fable. And probably because of that some people expected it to be different. That’s my guess.

Not going to lie, when I saw this, I thought “Strange to do so here,” but when the clip rolled, “Okay, yeah, that makes sense.”

Catching up on the day, that was some good shit.

That was definitely worth getting up to watch at 3am. Best showcase in years without a doubt.

Why is Ign live tweeting the Phil interview but not actually livestreaming it?

So when this air?

I’ll watch/read tomorrow.

Just finished the showcase. Working double time on a Sunday so couldn’t catch it live. Very little they could’ve done better. They earned this win and everyone involved should feel very proud.

Also, Darrel Gallagher deserves his :bouquet:. I was so critical of him and his studio. But that Perfect Dark trailer might’ve been coolest shit in the showcase if there wasn’t all these other amazing games. Bravo Sir

Showcase was awesome but fuck the “leakers” for getting my hopes up. I was legit expecting Blue Dragon :sob:

I couldn’t take that rumor seriously, though that’s mainly because I think it’s a pretty average game from what I’ve played and couldn’t see Xbox spending money on it.

I was expecting Halo CE remake :joy:

A post was merged into an existing topic: Xbox not going full multiplatform, working on Halo CE remaster - Verge

Excellent showcase. The best showcase of the generation for me with a whopping 62% (16 out of 26 games) accuracy rate. Disappointed that there wasn’t release dates for Avowed and Indiana Jones, the second half having eight out of ten games in a row not being for me and no shows for Towerborne and Contraband. All minor complaints. Anyway, my rundown on the 16 games that are for me -

  1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (campaign only)

This looks really good and I love the theme and story that they’re going for. I’m not a COD guy but I have played and completed a few of them and this one has my interest. And shout out to The Prodigy band with Firestarter kicking off the show. Love that song and band!!

  1. Doom: The Dark Ages

I beat Doom 2016 but could barely make any progress in Eternal as it’s just way too fast for me. This one though looks awesome and more importantly, looks like it plays slower which is a positive for me.

  1. State of Decay 3

Looks great and better than I was expecting. My only concern is that it may be a shared co-op open world and I just want to play solo like I did in the first game.

  1. Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Looks good and really looking forward to the 15 minute gameplay walkthrough this Tuesday.

  1. Starfield: Shattered Space

This looks freaking awesome!!! Dark and spooky with some horror themes. And a free update today!! Nice!

  1. Expedition 33

This is more 50/50 for me but looks good and im intrigued by the combat system even though it’s turn based. Need to see a proper gameplay walkthrough before knowing for sure either way.

  1. South of Midnight

This was by far the biggest surprise of the showcase for me due to how great it looks. Coming from Compulsion Games, they’ve been elevated over We Happy Few and Contrast which is great for me because I never cared about either of those two games. Looking forward to this one!!

  1. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

Looking forward to this game for a while and finally has a release date - July 18th.

  1. Perfect Dark

This looks freaking great!!! Love all the different types of gameplay and the environments looks amazing.

  1. Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

While only a cinematic, look freaking gruesome which isn’t a surprise considering the base game which I still need to play through and complete at some point. lol

  1. Fable

Coming in 2025 (November is my guess), seeing more gameplay and some of the world/towns looks great and very impressive. Excited for this one.

  1. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Only complaint is no release date but otherwise, looks really good and love the humor.

  1. Avowed

Again, only complaint is no release date but definitely looking forward to playing it and tomorrow is the deep dive for it on the Xbox Podcast.

  1. Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Love Assassin’s Creed so no surprise here. lol. Looks great and can’t wait to see the 13 minute gameplay trailer at the Ubisoft Forward showcase tomorrow. Sasuke FTW!!!

  1. Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl

Looks much improved over last year’s showing at Gamescom. Part of a packed September for me. I like the Metro series and I know Stalker was the original metro type games so looking forward to this one.

  1. Gears of War: E-Day

Last but definitely not least is Gears of War: E-Day. Super hyped for this game. A prequel set a decade or so before the first Gears of War game, brings back the full name as it should be and goes back to the dark mature roots of the original trilogy. If this is a Fall 2026 title and the next generation Xbox consoles do in fact release in Fall 2026, please let this be a launch title for the new hardware.

Overall, the best showcase of the generation and probably the best Xbox showcase ever for me.

It looked sick af and I can’t wait to play it. I wonder if it will end up having multiplayer. I got more of a immersive sim single player focus from the trailer. But PD was also known for it’s multiplayer I put probably 1000 hours in the N64 game and even zeros multiplayer during the 360 launch.

Personally I hope they just stick to single player I think that’s more important since not many multiplayer shooters stick around anyway most people have like their 3 or 4 games they play now and don’t touch anything else when it comes to multiplayer

Think I read single player only in a forum but I haven’t ready through the Xbox wire posts yet.
