Forza Horizon 5 is approaching 24 million players.

The game has proven to be a global phenomenon, already achieving a daily player base spread near-even across EMEA, Asia, and the Americas that’s nearly triple the previous daily player peak from the original Overwatch.
lol and a ton of “Overwatch is dead, a disaster etc.” youtube opinion videos already popped up when the launch was a little rocky.
Are they from ex-Halo content creators???
seeing the rumors floating around of developers getting mid gen refresh dev kits, kinda make me hopeful we are actually getting them this gen.
weird situation because I feel the consoles are perfectly fine as is, but also, I’d love to see a new Series X on Zen4/Zen 5 and RDNA 4. my biggest gripe with this console gen is just the insane cost of RT in relation to performance. RT looks really nice but the hit down to 30 is never pleasant, and I want a continued push for performance on these new machines.
I’m kinda hoping FSR 2.0 (and future enhancements to it) help on the console side, but we’ll see.
What did you see about mid gen refresh kits
I saw the same thing on reddit. It seems kinda crazy after all the chip shortages but I guess neither Xbox or Sony would want to be the only one NOT doing a mid-gen upgrade. I suppose if they can make a system strong enough to hit graphical modes at 60fps or implement more raytracing that’d be a nice improvement.
But of course, you can give a system enough power to do X or Y as much as you want - devs will still just do whatever.
They can always make them and not use them. with how the world has been who knows how the markets will turn out. better to be prepared and not need it I say.
This is a rumor at this point but I would like a mid gen refresh
What really is happening that PC is moving at much faster rate then console this gen compared to the last gen
Only downside i see in this is the development time impacted by entry of another sku
Best route will be to incorporate more VRAM and hardware for super resolution
This way, the game can simple be created first for base console and then upscaled to higher resolutions
And in some instances remove memory limitations
Absolutely,
Just look at how much people are spending in other parts of gaming industry
I am ready for more options
Let be a handheld or let be a more premium 800-1000$ traditional console
I will buy it if I see it worth it
I even want a console based on Nvidia architecture
More options the better
Hopefully, they add drivable space rovers in Starfield in an expansion. Would be cool to see Bethesda further expand their tech.
I think one is a Disney ip tbh. I doubt zenimax just got Indians jones, I’m sure they acquired another ip. Maybe roundhouse is working on something?
my source was teh reddit post yeah, should have shared it.
but yeah, honestly I’m very 50/50 on it happening simply due to the chip shortage, but part of me thinks, if we’re in for a 8-10 year console generation, it kinda makes sense to maybe release a mid gen refresh a bit later on (if the reason for such a long gen is the chip shortage).
I feel like both companies are probably developing them just in case the other is also developing it and releasing it, but I think the synergy between what’s in the xcloud data centers and what is sold on store shelves, is more then enough reason for microsoft to just release a mid gen refresh.
So how is the last Sea of Thieves adventure ? Stopped doing these since the last 1 or 2, I think it was poor and not worth my time. I’ve been quite disappointed with the Live-Service of SoT this year.
