They will continue to do that. But I’m talking about if Microsoft wants to partner with PlatinumGames again why not let them work on Scalebound.
Maybe better than the Xbox One era but there is still a ton of work that needs to be done in Japan so why not let Microsoft work with PlatinumGames on Scalebound again in addition to other projects they are working on such as the Kojima project. And Phil Spencer mentioned it himself that there’s lots more to do.

Absolutely, but just not Platinum again. Bridge was burned and Platinum aren’t in a place to trust their output right now. Imagine risking it again…
If they partner with Platinum again they should choose something with lesser scope (like an action game like Bayonetta) than something as ambitious as Scalebound. Do that and they can come back and have those discussions again.
Obviously there is a lot more to do, but it has nothing to do with Platinum at this point or Scalebound.
Team Ninja makes sense for Xbox to publish/partner with.
I heard on xbox two thst jez coudlnt talk about deatloop on xbox…
Are you fucking kidding me??? Why the fuck is there an embargo on a year old game??? What the hell has this industry come to.
I mean unless they revive Ninja Gaiden they arent what they use to be
NINJA gaiden 4 with Itagaki returning big budget would be qild.
They made Wo Long game and the other game is funded by Sony. Not sure if Team Ninja has anything free bandwith anymore.
Wow Long is 2023, and Rise of Ronin I think too? Plenty of time left for the rest of the gen.
I mean yeah not exactly what they used to with Ninja Gaiden but Nioh was great and Wo Long and Ronin both looking awesome. Even FF Origins was decent by many accounts.
Not in Japan. Untrust still exists with MS basically pulling out of the region and JP exclusives getting cancelled back then. That’s why that question was even asked.
Ronin is 2024.
PlatinumGames may be inconsistent but they are still one of the best independent studios in Japan. They developed a ton of great games over the years such as Bayonetta, Nier, Metal Gear Rising, Vanquish, and Astral Chain.
And you could bring up Scalebound and Babylon’s Fall but Scalebound seemed more like there was an issue with Unreal Engine and a lack of a clear vision at the early stages of development rather than it being a bad concept as a game. And Scalebound was confirmed to have multiplayer so if anything that could have been the biggest reason why the game was cancelled.
Babylon’s Fall on the otherhand shouldn’t have been made. And I would say more of the blame is on Square Enix over PlatinumGames themselves since PlatinumGames is not known for making live service games they are known for making single player action JRPG’s.
I believe Nintendo owns the Bayonetta IP now so I don’t think it will happen. I do think a Scalebound revival could work if thry cut out the multiplayer elements to the game and just focus on creating a single player action JRPG. Since I think the multiplayer features are the biggest reason the game was cancelled.
Of course but having more Japanese exclusive games will definitely be a huge factor in growing the platform in Japan. And PlatinumGames wants to work with Xbox again.
Platinum games needs to be bought out…expanded and given more focus
They’ve put out some shoddy garbage recently one of them being Babylons Fall. I’m very worried for Bayo 3 and not just because of Switch hardware.
I am a firm believer in Platinum, if they have the full backing and support from Microsoft. Let them focus on one game at a time and not have to take on so many games to keep the lights on. Once they start getting their rhythm down then expand to 2 or 3 different teams. I am all for them getting another shot at Scalebound as well. Sign the checks give them 4 to 5 years and let them make the game they want. No extra MP or CO OP if they don’t want it. Let them choose the engine they want and have full control. Give them deadlines and check in with them, but let them have the time to make the game without worrying about surviving until the next year. I would go so far as treat them as a 1st party with the financial backing and support for the duration and just see what happens.
Imo bayo 3 will be a return to form. As you said if Xbox bought platinum, management would need to be more hands in with them.
Anyone else hyped for everwild even though we haven’t seen a lick of footage and it make not be out until 2025.
I hope it’s Xbox very own Pokemon like.
Excited for this very reason
The artstyle alone has me interested
