JFO had Xbox marketing
Xbox had it.
I was literally coming to post this same tweet. TOW2 is going to fly under radar, but I’m expected in to bring some heat when it drops probably in 2024.
Depending on how far along these studios are with their games I’d love to see John Johanas’ new game and also Compulsion. We know about most of the games coming, officially but those two and also Cobalt of course we know nothing about, officially.
What is up with internet “personalities” keep dismissing Xbox franchises saying no one cares about it and no one ever did yet every time they say that shit the game has had over like 10m players. First it was State of Decay, Sea of Thieves, Grounded and now it’s Killer Instinct. These new podcasts and media people suddenly covering Xbox is really starting to show.
It’s like they’re begging for these franchise to say “Oh I’ll show them.”
- drop a uninformed stupid hot take
- ‘please community inform us why our stupid hot take was stupid’
- another video
- profit
It was kinda unexpected I would say. I thought they were aware that Killer Instinct is still kinda big despite not having any game or update since 2017…
It helps that KI started in a platform that legitimately got booed at at EVO. So for the game to survive and strive to garnered a fan base is a miracle.
Don’t forget Forza Horizon 5! ‘Does anybody really care about Forza?’ - gets 13 million players in 5 days.
It’s not that unexpected of a take to me, but I admittedly don’t know how successful the Xbox iterations were. I could see the same for Banjo tbh.
I too remember the days when KI was a MK clone, and Banjo was a Mario 64 clone, and Diddy Kong Racing was a Mario Kart clone. I think almost my entire perception of Rare was they made copies of Nintendo stuff and Goldeneye lol.
This is where Game Pass falls in. Want to risk it? Do it.
Remakes are currently the big fashion of the day so give me Halo 3 Anniversary by Saber Interactive and Blur you cowards. Don’t miss the train again like with Banjo-Kazooie.
I do find it weird we got only Halo 2 with new cutscenes. Would make sense with Halo 1 and Halo 3 to do the same.
Halo CE Anniversary was a testing ground and is definitely flawed (and didn’t have Blur Studio involved) but I don’t think it would make sense to have another one. At least not before a looong period of time like for the 30th anniversary.
Halo 3 Anniversary definitely makes sense though. Saber totally nailed it with Halo 2 Anniversary. If nothing happens for the 15th anniversary, I would wonder why MS didn’t continue their partnership with them, especially since they knew they were going to have light years the time their newly acquired FP studios are ready to release new games.
Plenty of publishers are currently taping into nostalgia (RE4R, Dead Space, TLOU, KOTOR, Demon’s Soul, Zelda Link’s Awakening, FF7R, Crash, Spyro, Metroid Samus Returns, Max Payne, Pokémon…). And it’s great in my opinion.
I just want a whole set of beautiful CGI.
MS going all out on KH4 marketing would be awesome. Maybe force Disneys hand a bit since SE is in Bed with Sony.
Even though KH4 might be a game that sucks balls…its still gonna be popular.
KI sparked this thought but it applies to almost every franchise, but why do people assume just because a franchise wasn’t popular yesterday can’t become popular tomorrow.
There has been a full generation of new gamers coming in that may find KI or any game for that matter to be their favorite. Big reason why I’m a fan of rebooting some older IP’s.
