FPS vs TPS
It’s obvious but it’s gonna work more safely I think, especially because they’re gonna be making an IP/character with their most iconic feature being their appearance, I don’t think they’ll pay for something they’re not gonna actually utilize much lol.
I personally think it should isometric.
I wanna see it as a turn-based side scrolling strategy platformer with lots of loot boxes & pay to win mechanics.
- Co-op like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
I guess I just feel like - it’s a transition period. The game was known before the sale finalized, and IF it stays on other platforms there may have been some things signed then that aren’t worth the cost of renegotiating now. That will end & I don’t think we’ll see much of it with Bethesda game titles in the future unless it’s an online platform or something that makes sense to get the biggest possible audience - and if that’s the case, I’d expect Game Pass subs to be given consumables / custom in game items or something.
We’ll see this again for a while with Activision, and who knows what will happen specifically with Call of Duty - it almost seems like that’s another one like Destiny where it makes sense to keep the multiplayer on other platforms, and the other content that’s contractually obligated as well. But other stuff & new IP will not end up on other platforms most likely.
I guess part of why I don’t care that much is because I don’t have the time to play everything I want already - so it just doesn’t upset me that much. The 3rd party thing annoys me a little, but I look at that as - hey they didn’t want my money I guess, and move on. Not saying you’re wrong to feel how you feel, but I think a lot of this is very temporary & will stop being a thing in the long run.
Dying Light 2 proved to me that first person melee combat really can work very well, so I’m less worried after that.
However, Machinegames Wolfenstein TNO are one of very, very, very few AAA fps that has given me severe motion sickness so I really hope they don’t go the first person route. I’ve only played the first one, but it was on par with poorly made first person indies in the reaction I had. Horrible, and no real settings to adjust either. I had to medicate to power through.
I hope Indy is a RTS game
This is the type of games Xbox 1st party needs to have in order to dominate the console war
This is why they need to buy WB
I will delete my Xbox account if this became a thing
Yeah, the TPS conversation sure keeps coming back, lol.
Not gonna lie, I would be super happy if it does turn out to be third person, simply because in my book Indiana Jones is not something you make into a first person game. Emperor’s Tomb really showed that.
But that being said I am not putting my hopes up on that, so when they confirm it as first person…it is what it is. Disappointment won’t be a big then.
But if they do go first person only, then they really have to nail everything about the gameplay. The platforming, the shooting, the climbing, the hand to hand combat (because Indy does not use guns that much, its about the punches, the throwing around of dudes into tables, walls, etc, the kicking, using the whip as weapon etc.)
Can MG nail all that? Those things in my opinion are often just way more fun and better in tp.
I didn’t have this problem myself, but I definitely know what you mean.
It definitely does feel way different than other fps games, and not always in a good way. Should be interesting to see how the combat and everything else feels, because I don’t recall much melee in Wolfenstein games by MG.
Lots of Machine Games employees came from Starbreeze, which made Chronicles of Riddick. I think that had first person melee.
Oh, that’s promising then! That game had great combat.
Yeah and Guerilla Games make Killzone and Playground makes racing games /s
Saw a few interesting tweets in response to this older one:
So far Grubb has only said talks were still going on between Xbox and Kojima, nothing about a particular game, right? So it probably won’t be that game which Sony and Google said no too. Probably a good thing too I’m guessing, if it isn’t.
Depends why Google said no. It would make sense for it to be the Google game since it was a cloud game and this is supposed to be a cloud game.
But Sony apparently passed on it too, wanted nothing to do with it. I guess the reason could be because they don’t do much with cloud, if at all?
