Yeah. I think it is gonna be a relatively linear game. Something like Tomb Raider maybe?
True true, but there’s a start for everything. Don’t know why I thought this was going to be that. I do think it will offer a bit more freedom that the first one, it might still be linear but can see it being more open than the first.
Tomb Raider has an overworld structure with lite metroidvania elements, bunch of dungeon/puzzle areas. I would absolutely love if Hellblade 2 is anything like that but I so so so doubt it. Just doesn’t appear like what NT want to do with this.
That would be great because Rise and Shadow, even the reboot had some wide open areas, not open world but definitely allowing for enough freedom. Even if it’s not as open as that, just a bit more than the first would be nice.
I think what Ninja Theory has shown so far is perfect for what Xbox and PC Game Pass needs at the moment. An Unreal Engine 5 title that will blow our mind with its audio, narrative and graphical fidelity.
Maybe this is a stupid comparison, I see Hellblade 2 being like a modern version of Dragon’s Lair. It’s going to be a massive game because it’s going to hit for its artistic visual fidelity that we haven’t seem from other developers before. Along with accessible gameplay that wider audiences are probably going to be fine with, we’re all here to see where Senua’s story goes. And if that means we get better looking action during combat, cool.
It’s the perfect type of title that Game Pass and Xbox need. A really in depth ride of a cinematic game that casual players will want to buy an Xbox over.
We’ve had lots of insiders already say a number of those games are 2024.
Microsoft is lucky that we’re in a position of stock issues because we’re not remotely in the point of the generation that people are locked in yet because people just can’t get consoles so having a gap in games is ok right now. I would say next year or the year after is the most crucial years for the crossover, so they need those years to be good and this is probably why they are ok with delaying games right now.
Yep, couldn’t have said it better.
Yeah there is a lot of things Xbox benefits from right now. In fact even these game delays do not affect Xbox that much due to shortages.
I do curious to see the timeline where no console has a shortage.
last gen during 2013 I could’ve easily walked into best buy around December 26th and buy an Xbox One right then and there. Glad I waited a gear to get it as a christmas gift 2014.
Well that photo was from Grubb actually, not Matty
ooh, the console wars multiverse!
(Dibs on Earth 30712 where all the games I love now that most people hate are super popular & I hate them because they’re popular )
If Microsoft releases two or more exclusives in the first half of 2023 (my guesses are Redfall, Avowed and perhaps one or two smaller AA games in between the big releases), delaying Starfield to November isn’t going to matter because the problem as of now is that there’s no exclusives for 2022 where as in 2023, you would have already gotten a few.
I believe that Microsoft gives Bethesda Game Studios a full year because they all want Starfield to be the best it can be. But we’ll see.
Can’t wait for people to assume this means a Star Wars game
I want to remind everyone that Hellblade 2 had a vertical slice last year
