Xbox Game Studios |OT8| Leaving The Drought Behind And Heading For Starfield

Idk 75-78 meta critic score for the game isn’t that bad honestly still on my radar

I think it looks really interesting, I’m not gonna rush to go grab it on PS5 or anything but I’m pretty excited to play it on game pass in a year or so. I love the overall aesthetic to the game and the open world looks fun to explore, plus the reviews seem to mention the games length as being 10-20 hours which might be a more ideal length for a weaker open world title.

Probably a sneak peak into the work that has gone into Starfield.

For a long time I have been choosing my games based on what I see and experience like the time of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s , and I still know that high ratings are the key to commercial success only, not artistic. There are many games that I tried and loved, and it is still one of the best games I have played in my life. The average rating was 7. examples :- dark siders series, battlechasers, rime, castlevania lord of shadow, death stranding, the evil within, ryse, lost sphear, metro 2033. Based on what I saw from ghostwire tokyo, I really liked the way to play, I also bought it on Steam, as well as the ps5 version, support for Shinji Mikami

Les F… Gooo :stuck_out_tongue:

I know the AAAA thing wasn’t meant to be taken seriously or for gamers but once it’s out there, right or wrong, that’s always going to be referenced. I know that Mistwalker is basically an “idea” studio and that’s not what I ever wanted The Initiative to be and don’t know why anyone would want that to be including Microsoft.

I have 100% confidence in Gallagher. Very happy that all those people left and with Crystal Dynamics, im expecting Perfect Dark to be an excellent AAA blockbuster.

Damn it!!! There goes the 80+ 6 game streak. :frowning:

The CGI trailer catched my attention, and I started to picture a game like The evil Within but set in that location. When the gameplay reveal showed it was nothing like I expected and with each new showing of the game my interest in it got less and less. Visually it looks fine, the rest…eh. Doesn’t seem scary at all, doesn’t seem to be a sense of danger or suspense.

I’m hoping John Johannes is making The evil Within 3 or something similar to that. Preferably a horror game that has the strengths their previous games had. Can be third or first person, my preference would go to third person.

Yup, September. E3 showcase

Considering that starting 2023 we should potentially start to get big game per quarter and Avowed allegedly is Q1 release, I wonder if this could be Q2 for example. This E3 will be juicy.

Oh Vandal… a big (spain?) gaming outlet which is basically Sony-favored in a nutshell. Already a ‘rough’ for them to cover non-japanese rpg news when it is known that the country is mostly PS users who also liked rpg games. hard to promote PS5 in their rpg articles when Xbox is an rpg powerhouse this gen.

It’s pretty sad people consider a 75 Metecritic being “bad”. To me, any game in the 7-8 area represents a good game with faults. And I’d say that for the PS5 timed-exclusive Ghostwire Tokyo just as I would say it for something like Battletoads (which I loved).

I’d hate to be a dev or really anyone creative who spends years trying to make something great that customers will enjoy. They put out an overall quality product that’s immediately dismissed because it doesn’t hit some crazy unrealistic scores. What’s sad is that many care about console wars more than enjoying the hobby.

There are a lot of heavily flawed games that I still love.

Turok 64 had horrible controls. Loved it.

Evolution (jrpg for the dreamcast) was grindy and terribly written. Loved it.

Ryse was repetitive and basic. Loved it.

Just liked movies sometimes the ones with flaws end up being some of your favorites.

I consider games in the 7 range to be good with 6 above average and 8 being great. So while Ghostwire Tokyo is good, it’s in the same range as The Evil Within 1 and 2. At some point, a studio needs to stop being good and instead, become great.

Glad to see good combat getting a big focus on both games

fable is a restart? i wonder if playground will keep and expand on the old lore? (william black, the void, the full court of blades etc)
