MMOs are cool and huge. I think MS realize that and will have 2-3 of them. If at least one lands well it would be a money printer for 7-10 years, can be tied to Game Pass as well.
It’s not like everyone who has an Xbox or a PC has played Skyrim, so having game pass to lower the barrier should attract more people to Starfield.
Tying it to Game Pass is key I think. The “Ultimate” sub needs to be a bit more… Ultimate.
ngl Ultimate is such a ridiculous deal the way I sub to it (resold Gold codes + Gold conversion) ~ $100 for TWO years lol
The $15 price… I don’t know. I think the way some of us have realized Gold is an artificial barrier makes Ultimate not look that Ultimate, as you said. But others who take Gold for granted still view Ultimate as an amazing combo deal.
Yeah, I can’t imagine the “gold loophole” being open forever either. They need more things to motivate the “real” price for sure, especially if they kill off Gold eventually.
I do wonder though, if Microsoft actually decided to remove Gold as a requirement for online play, will that be viewed as an anticompetitive “UnDeRcUtTiNg competition” move because they can afford it and Sony/Nintendo can’t?
i do expect Diablo 4 to be big. but OW 2 needs overhaul
For sure, I can already see it when it inevitably happens.
OW2 is supposed to the be the 2.0 overhaul
removing gold and making it free online play, it’s move could hurt sony more than GP.
if they followed they would lose big profit and if they don’t that would make their console less attractive.
like you can play fifa UT without need for gold but on PS you need Plus
i mean right now is development of the game is not great, something going on with it.
Yeah like the rest of Blizzard’s projects
idk Diablo 4 is looking great.
360 required Gold while PS3 was free, don’t think it made the biggest difference competition-wise tbh but could be wrong
Yes but not a smooth development either, OW2 is a ridiculous proposition anyway, it didn’t need a sequel.
yeah but it’s not as bad as OW 2
PSN at the times was crap, it hadn’t even a unified chat system. It was like current PNS/XBL vs Nintendo Switch Online, with the difference Sony is no Nintendo. Many people chose PS3 anyway because it was cheaper to play online even if it was crap. Imagine a free XBL.
It was definitely a selling point later in the generation when the PS3 wasn’t ludicrously expensive anymore, but I don’t think any of the three are in a hurry to make online free. It’s basically free money for them at this point.
