I think we are looking at another Respawn/Titanfall 1 situation
Apparently it’s something they want to make, but I believe MS would still let them know what they would like.
"Make whatever game you want to, if you want to make it co-op be my guest "
If Hellblade 2 gets co-op? I’m just throwing out there, but honestly, I do believe it’s optional regardless of their inner desire.
Dont think xbox will own anything here besides maybe dibs at publishing rights.
Nah Hellblade all about Senua. i mean from the reveal gameplay trailer co-op won’t work very well.
Co-op games aren’t inherently bad, co-op should be an additional feature and not the rock where the game sits on.
Total War Warhammer 3 is going to have a massive co-op campaign, the game still has a full-on single-player experience.
Same with Halo infinite and even a game like Monster Hunter, I’ve played solo many times comfortably. It’s all down to game design, making co-op a main feature and unavoidable isn’t that great.
It was a random example. If the game has co-op, then you can debate if Xbox forced the devs to do that.
That is probably the absolute best case scenario, happy dev teams will always create better games, especially so if it’s something THEY want to make. This will also get us even more games because if a ton of first party want to do one thing it means Xbox will need to go to 3rd party to help out which means even more games.
We’ll have to wait and see about this one, but Xbox is going full speed with these future projects and we already know plenty of confirmed titles. The road map is becoming more surreal to handle.
Yes, another effect of Microsoft’s resources being fully behind Xbox now. They don’t have to compromise which will give us more and better games.
but no body said Xbox forced their studios on it , i’m pretty much expected MS to look for a games they want to be made, 3P Party studios deals was the best choice with their new vision.
SoT played by 25m players, is that new? Shit that’s a lot for a game the way it launched.
No, this number from last year.
I’m just loading the potential debate for what could come out of it, despite what’s said afterward. Internet can be full of manipulation.
Ah ok
This is my take and always will be. It’s why when I hear “co-op” I tend to get worried, because I’ve played many recent co-op games and the SP experience is not good in them. And the thing is, there’s many games that are great in both SP and co-op so I don’t excuse devs who don’t optimize their design for solo players anymore. PvP have games literally become more solo friendly than a lot of those co-op games.
Just make a great solo game and add a co-op component to it, shouldn’t be that hard.
Amen.
Every game developer is shaking their head right now.
