At this point, it’s been three years since Everwild had it’s debut trailer. If they don’t have any idea of what the game is going to be after three years, it’s time to cancel it and move on to another project because wasting year after year just trying to finalize what the concept is going to be is just a waste of everyone’s time as well as Microsoft’s money and resources (not that this aspect probably matters all that much) but sometimes, you need to just move on.

You’re literally discounting Rare because of the early rough State of Thieves, when Rare still had good track record during the OG/360/X One days.
We don’t need to know how the sausage is being made WHILE THE sausage is still trying to be made.
Do a post-mortum AFTER the game is cancelled like Scalebound.
Rare employees are literally on Twitter talking about Everwild and Jeff out here like “Lol, game’s a mess, nobody knows anything about the game their making. Matt Booty’s trying to save face”

I’m not discounting Rare at all… but it’s not incorrect to say they do have recent issues with getting projects off the ground in a reasonable shape…
As evidenced Sea of Thieves (which launched very rough, but thankfully has developed into a very successful IP) and now Everwild.

EDIT: I think I read somewhere that Double Fine may have helped a tiny bit on Halo Infinite, but I also may have been taking Tim’s joke literally and just imagining the article.

Anyway, I’m all for Microsoft giving Rare the time for the reboot to make the best game possible… whether that be 2024, 2025…
But at some point you need to formulate a gameplay loop or move on.

I’d just assumed to was announced super early like most of the stuff from 2020. (Yes I know it was 2019 but STILL)
Sigh… The wait for SoD3 is gonna kill me.
I actually prefer leaks. Take Redfall for example. Granted, maybe it’s all bullshit but the leak of it being a looter shooter made me much more interested than I was after watching the cinematic trailer at E3. Also, sometimes I just want to know what studios are working on because if it’s a game that is of no interest to me, I can already know what to expect and if it somehow goes the other way, I still win. Hehehe.

This could help the game as well, since I’ve seen some people asking for a mature AAA pokemon, maybe, just maybe it could be steered in that direction since they have none right now, if they catch this feedback.
