Did anyone post this yet?

“the Coalition has a new smaller game from a new IP which should come in 2023. He goes on to say that Gears 6 is to come after, 2024/2025.”

Insane, they seriously need to bring out a Minecraft 2 with the animation sort of graphics they keep using in these videos and on those update videos. It looks great plus it will modernize it and bring it up to Fortnite style graphics which most people are used to now. It would be huge to announce Minecraft 2.

Another former WB Games joining XGS P as a Technical Director + A promotion for a new Chief of Staff

The former Chief of Staff is the new Director M&A Business Integration (Acquisitions) at XGS.

There’s a suspicious number of hires that have worked for WB and specifically Netherrealm. Killer Instinct baby

My theory is that Killer Instinct will be made internally at XGS, and they will hire a lot of fighting game expertise for it.

I feel like MS might be building a KI studio NGL, would be easy to keep under wraps too.

A studio could be too much of a hassle currently, maybe a team within an XGS studio that already has the tech and artists for a lot of the work needed.

I doubt there are teams or staff within XGS that are just sitting idle waiting to work on something, sure they might be able to hire within to form a team or studio but they’re gonna have to hire from the outside like they are pulling people from WB.

If they were building an internal studio for KI then why would they be hiring all these people from NRS/WB for Global Publishing?

If anything to me suggests to me a KI2 would be a XGP title but im not sure that makes sense

This would be good if true

Means we get something fresh from the coalition relatively soon, gears gets a longer rest so when it comes back in 24/25 people can appreciate it more and give them more time for innovation

I’ve always imagined there could be like an “Internal Xbox Studios” or whatever that isn’t necessarily a full fledged studio, but rather a label with a base game development environment, for multi-studio internal productions that aren’t made by a specific studio.

Let’s say ok, we want Killer Instinct. We need ~30 devs to start on it. Unreal Engine programmers, character artists, animators, whatever etc, from across Xbox studios as well as external hires, and hires for that specific project, like designers and directors with fighting genre experience. It gets made that way, published by Xbox Game Studios, developed by “Xbox Internal Studios” or “Xbox Productions”.

I mean yeah definitely.

This game is currently the longest announced XGS game and it could easily be the last shipping (among the currently announced one). It’s a pity, because the art style of the second trailer was beyond gorgeus, but graphics alone are nothing without a solid core gameplay concept.

Speaking of Rare, I feel they have become the one game per generation studio, because they try to make these huge experimental games, while they agreed to borrow their IPs for smaller revivals. I hope the next one to be revived is Banjo, a remaster plus/remade like the Crash/Spyro ones for the first installment would be an almost assured success and it wouldn’t need a special expertise for platform games, only time and money to recreate assets and modernize a bit the controls, IDK why MS didn’t tried yet this operation.
