I’m really serious. Got that feeling
My go to release date leak is the Nvidia one . It was last updated before 2020 and didn’t account for covid delays . So I add 1 year to what ever is in there and that’s exactly what I’m expecting .
Sony is gonna need to buy way more support studios to worry MS, just look at the company Keyworks Studios and they’re pretty much a massive support studio network.
Delays are always known when a game is closer to the planned release, there’s no way you could plan something knowing it would be delayed.
You could add more years to the initial plan, but true delays only happens when you know you can’t reach that initial date.
Grubbs dates are really conservative, I’m sure some games will get delayed by some margin.
Can’t you rest, brother?
Actually, I’ve for the longest time be outspoken about Microsoft’s use of contractors SINCE the start of Halo’s problems.
I get why you want to use 18 month contractors, and it’s probably easier on widely used engines like UE5, but Slipspace sounded like a mothertrucker to work with at some point, and losing experience 18 months at a time with no guareente they were coming back probably made things tougher.
Thankfully it seems MOST of XGS is using UE 4/5 so contractor’s shouldn’t be a problem, but pulling Turn 10, Coalition and I think even Double Fine off their projects to help get Slipspace under control is not a solution.
Probably also would have been easier if development wasnt a disaster. A lot can be done in 18 months, less so when you lack direction.
I mean honestly, most of the development of Halo Infinite sounded like a shitshow, so the fact that it turned out as amazing as it did proves that somebody struck a bargin with some kind of eldritch entity.

Ok, why did you connect that to Sony? Why is there always paranoia about anything Sony does and assumptions that MS need to follow suit or they’re doomed?
FWIW, I don’t believe there has been a single indication that companies are having a hard time finding support work.
Yeah because there are tons of support studios people don’t even know about, no one knew who that support studio Sony just bought until they were bought.
Because many of Sony’s partners WERE those 18 month contractors on propritary engines such as Slipsapce and Forzatech.
Forzatech seems solid, but Slipsace needs all the help it can get, moreso if they plan to pump out content as much as 343 does.
Nearly ALL of Sony’s engines are properitary so I can see WHY they would need help with dedicated support studios.
343 and Turn 10/Playground are the only ones I think at this time using proprietary engines.
Minus I think Bethesda of course.
Even as great as Halo Infinite is (AND IT’S REALLY REALLY GREAT), 343 and Slipspace still needs a ton of work.
The more the better and dedicated studio built to help 343 couldn’t hurt.
Let’s just stop with the “Sony is playing chess while Xbox is playing checkers” style attitude though. More like big bank little bank
Look I just want Halo: The Endless injected directly into my veins as soon as humanly possible, and the more support studios that Microsoft can throw at 343 to get Halo Infinite looking even better is
Like I need the next expansion, and Firefight like NOW.
It’s really getting exhausting to read that stuff every time Sony does something. Announce a game, showcase a game, announce acquisition, announce a show. Ugh.
The show part is actually a valid argument because until shown otherwise, Microsoft DOES appear to be allergic to showcasing games before E3.
That’s a valid criticism.
Next thing I want from slipsace is more dynamic foliage and weather.
