Thanks Brit
Hahaha
we will move this to the regular discussion
They NEED to lock down Bioshock to a gamepass/exclusivity deal…
The IP was synonymous with the 360.
100% the longer the gap between announce and reveal people will get beyond hyped and their expectations rise way beyond what they probably should be. I think this has been a testbed for marketing from them to see if it can still generate hype (which it has I think) and they’ll be watching the metrics on this for sure. I’d say even if the view counts on stuff is lower, the general vibe being more positive because expectations are lower it’s worth the trade off. I do wonder if this is Bethesda rubbing off on Xbox even more so haha.
I’m so freaking overwhelmed with Xbox Game Pass that I’m questioning if I should even stay subscribed when it runs out. There are times when I get so overwhelmed with choice that I end up dropping games, and I don’t like doing that.
I still need to finish Psychonauts 2, the ori games and some of the Bethesda Softworks titles such as Dishonored death of the outsider and Evil Within 2.
I’m playing 8 games right now, I just play based on my mood lol. One thing I want though is a reminder video for what I was doing if I haven’t played in a couple weeks. Gamepass is making that more necessary than ever lol
What I’m hoping is that this game will do super well on Game Pass. So let’s say it’s Elden Ring for example and it’s a gigantic success on GP, tons of people checking it out and Banco very happy with that cheque from MS, lol. This should hopefully make other pubs interested in Game Pass too. It has to start somewhere with a big title on day one.
It can’t be Elden Rinf sadly because we all know it’s not exclusive.
Imagine its FFVIIR Part 2 .
Not really
Bioshock was a timed exlcusive for like a year and thats about it from what I remember and by the sound of things, its already been locked up by Sony
Mass Effect had 1 and 2 were exclusive for a long time but even it isnt really synonymous with xbox anymore
Splinter Cell is a better shout because it was a timed exclusive from when xbox was just starting out and actually had a permanent exclusive with Conviction
also people are mentioning things that have already been announced as well as platforms, whatever it is it’s something that either hasnt been officially announced or at least has been announced without platforms listed e.g. 007
There were only rumors Sony was trying to moneyhat Bioshock, no good confirmed sources.
I think there’s some good possibilities:
Bioshock, Splinter Cell, Titanfall 3, Mass Effect 4, Kingdoms of Amalur 2, James Bond, Kojima Game, JP Games big JRPG, Ninja Gaiden
I agree I feel like one you announce something thats comming in a week or two. The console warriors on both sides tend to just put it down before it happens.
Agreed
They should do this more, it’s exciting when you know things could drop at anytime vs announcing things super far out and building absurd expectations
Gob up Tomb Raider as a permanent exclusive.
Xbox should just buy the Eidos side of Square, supposedly its not as profittable as the Square side of things. The US/Canadian branch of Square Enix that does stuff like Deus Ex, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Tomb Raider and Gex.
Not as large of an investment for Microsoft and they could negotiate the rights to some valuable IP, such as Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and Just Cause.
IMO this is how it should be moving forward, at least more of this. Works for Nintendo, today proved it will work for Xbox too.
Nick said that they were in negotiations and he hasn’t commented on that rumour in months… no confirmation that they have locked it up.
And yes at the time… with the marketing deal and timed exclusivity, the original Bioshock was synonymous with the 360.
If they do end up acquiring CD after Perfect Dark, getting the TR IP as well would make a lot of sense
Yeah I know its just rumor for now but with Sony going after IPs that were once exclusive to MS and the rumor’s, im ddefinitely leaning into it being far more likely Sony will have it than Xbox
This is the same effect it had on me first and that owning a lot of games in general also has (like Steam thanks to sales lol). Try to work on making yourself realize that you don’t need to play everything and that it’s fine to take your time. You don’t need to check everything because it looks cool. Identify what type of games you could enjoy, not that you shouldn’t try different things, but don’t trying too many different things. I also found playing a different genre/type each time helps. I don’t go from playing a platformer to a platformer, or from a shooter to a shooter.
Take Eidos Montreal as well. They are a pretty talented studio. I’m not a big fan of Shadow of the Tomb Raider but I can tell that they put a lot of passion into Guardians of the Galaxy, even if it is sort of a mid game. The new Deus Ex games were also a lot of fun and have that RPG first person sim style stuff that Xbox seems pretty invested in at the moment.
I guess Project Belfry could actually be a batman game, bet they’d be psyched about that
