What does Dark fantasy take us to

I knew what dark fantasy meant to me, but I wasn’t sure of the exact definition - so I checked Wikipedia. According to it, dark fantasy is a really broad subgenre that includes everything from supernatural horror (Dracula, HP Lovecraft, etc.) to more traditional fantasy that simply has a dark tone (The Dark Tower, etc.). It can also be used to describe any fantasy/horror work that features anti-heroes or is sympathetic to “villains.”

Wasn’t there a rumor going around a while back that Compulsion’s game had something to do with Jack the Ripper? If there were some supernatural elements sprinkled onto that concept it would definitely qualify as dark fantasy.

If the game isn’t coming out in 2022. Don’t bother. Focus on showing games coming out in the next 12-16 months before 2023.

I rather see Avowed when there’s something tangible. I want to see Starfield gameplay footage in November.

the 100+ japanese games on Gamepass is music to my ears. Playing through AI Somnium. Reall good game.

Xbox One’s JPN game library from 2013 to 2018 was poverty. It wasn’t until BC games and more JPN games that we got better support. Keep em coming (Persona 5 Royal please)

If rumors are true we were supposed to see an avowed gameplay trailer at e3 this year, but they cancelled it last minute. The game is ready to show off.

Like it’s hard to imagine now but Guerrila wasn’t always the powerhouse studio they did. They made a multiplatform Vietnam game that was terrible, and the Killzone games only really impressed from a graphics perspective.

It was after Zero Down that Guerrila became a house hold name.

I don’t think you’re giving enough credit to Killzone. It’s not my cup of tea, but it was a pretty good-sized fanbase and Guerrilla was well known. They made 4 mainline games of it and some mobile spin-offs afterall, it was not an under-the-radar thing.

Pretty much I would say. The way he worded it made it seem like last time he checked, it was on its way to 30 million based on where the figure was and its growth rate.

So Tango Gameworks has three projects in the pipeline now…

• Ghostwire Tokyo
• New game by TeW 2 director John Johanas
• Smaller game to play in short doses

Once GT is done the rest of that team could then maybe help out with new game by John Johanas which I assume is one of their bigger games, or at least I hope so myself.

If Tango can make both AAA and AA that sounds great to me, they make no mention of if John’s game is indeed AAA but I doubt Tango will only focus on small stuff now.

it would be amazing to see a lovecraftian game from compulsion , there arnt any good lovecraftian games with good story , there is bloodborne but its not focused on story , call of cthulhu 2018 had a decent story but not enough budget to make a great game
