Seems likely
They do seem to have a track record of operating as a support studio for many AAA games, including several Xbox 1st party games.
I personally want from the 3rd person action / cinematic / ubisoft style games and JRPGs. Exactly two genres that they lack from their third and first party studios.
Should have stopped at cinematic .
If Ubisoft were to make their games smaller, they would be fine. I mean Ghost of Tsushima follows exactly the same pattern, but it is kinda better game.
but they wont be ubisoft games at that point . That would be Sony games .
I agree . There is a fine line between Sony games and Ubisoft games .
Stealth franchise is a good call. It’s a genre under-served in general right now.
Also while they have a ton of RPGs in the works, would be nice to see a 3rd person, story-driven, party-based RPG in the mold of Mass Effect or Dragon Age. With Microsoft literally owning the majority of the top Western RPG talent, hope for that type of RPG outside of Bioware is slim at the moment.
Ubisoft style references to a specific type of open world. Sony did not invent icon completionism.
I don’t think that MS owning wrpg has something to do with a lack of third person RPGs. More likely teams just like to work on first person RPG. Bethesda, Obsidian, Inxile
Actually having stealth be the only option, with the player outnumbered and easily killed in combat would be cool
the problem with ubisoft games isnt that they are too big , its that they are too repetitive and boring , i have games that ive played for over 100 hours but that didnt bother me , actualy it didnt even felt like 100 hours because i was having so much fun , but when your game is 100 hours of raids or conquering some fort just to lv up because you cant continue the story if you dont , thats not fun
the dialog was very childish and simplistic in recent assassins creed games , and none of the characters had an interesting story to say , its like even the voice actors were like " lets get this over with " , its didnt seem like they had passion
Give me either Deus Ex or a rip off of it lol
Watched several clips of Halo Infinite multiplayer and it looks great, but I do notice things like static foliage, trees don’t move in the wind at all. I get that 343 is going for super smooth performance here but is this also a engine thing I wonder?
Because for example the BF beta with a huge ass map, locked 60fps has tons of trees and foliage wildly swaying in the wind, which I love. Halo is a much smaller map too. I’m guessing it’s a engine thing then. Do hope campaign has it. Game worlds where foliage is just static as can be is just odd nowadays.
This is in no way a jab at either studio, I was just wondering why this is.
I agree this would be nice, but even massive games that only focus on single player do these features. Look at ratchet and clank.
I think it’s just to lock in other features ultimately.
Oh, I agree. The studios they purchased traditionally haven’t done those. Just throwing it out there. Would like to see one of them eventually try their hand at one of those. This is more of a wishful thought than something I think they should do. End of the day, they should do whatever they’re passionate about.
The BF beta also has an insane amount of pop-in, glitches and weird lighting problems. Well in the two games I played. Tbh, if its a resource trade off to make the game super smooth I am ok with static trees.
Of course I would love super smooth wavey trees
Also , this is just a guess now. The engine in Halo also has to expand out to do the open world side of single player. So maybe it is just a resource thing in the larger game.
Term was used sarcastically, as I’m normally on that side of the argument.
If it’s so obvious, why was the reaction “this is what games look like in development” and not “this is an old build”.
Also, who cares. Nobody suggested that the screens imply there is a problem with the game or that’s what the game will look like in the end. It’s not even worth a discussion.
I believe first person is usually done for the deep immersion. After all, no matter how good third person is, it is more akin watching a movie rather than living your own character
Thats subjective tho . Alot of people are much more immersed when they can see their character .
Previous Arkane games in order:
Deathloop Prey Dishounored 2 Dishounored
Redfall will be absolutely fine.
