Thing is, its MS who have the data, they see how it does. Maybe the IP sells millions of XGP subs which is what they want.
I got bored by Gears Tactics personally. As a big Halo Wars fan, I would have prefered something similar with 3v3 Multiplayer, COG and Locust commanders and massive battles in real time (though that would have been kind of a reskin ultimately).
I think single-player turn-based strategy games are not for me anymore. RTS all the way.
Gears has been getting a sequel every 2-3 years since 2006 with very little change as well as remasters and spinoffs
Its absolutely oversaturated, we’ve never had a reason to miss the series
@anon74828371 I tried Tactics like 4 times and I found it so boring jeez
It’s just painfully generic. Maybe their side project will spark some creativity juices for the next Gears instalment.
No. We can’t. They can simply double in size and build a new IP as well as Gears
Like even Halo feels different from game to game but with Gears you are literally playing the same thing just a different number. The encounters are the same, the weapons are all the same, the online devolves into the same loop, etc.
Hate it cause I LOVE GEARS and own every game but Im super harsh on it lately.
True.

Fallout
Hmm personally I felt like there was enough variety. Even Hivebusters was quite different IMO.
Personally at this rate I just wish MS would buy Epic and give Unreal Tournament to the Coalition. I’m sick to death with Battle Royale (Thanks Fortnite)!
I have been craving a new UT in forever. GoW was essentially UT’s little brother.
Yes, Crackdown 4.
Me begging for a revamped share system and more fps boost titles
Prog going on a rant about god knows what
But there are basic questions that aren’t answered in Gears. Why are humans occupying a planet called Sera? Why is it dominated by military factions? Where is earth? Is there interseller travel?
I could see it moving in a slightly more sci fi direction narratively, but I get your point from a possible gameplay perspective.
It’s like we’re in one big Loop but no one has figured the way out.
A deathloop …
I would like to see The Coalition expand into two full size teams.
Primary team does Gears 6 which should be more like Hivebusters. More linear with slightly open sections for the enemy encounters and straight forward. No side stuff and all this other crap that doesn’t belong in Gears.
Secondary team does a new IP. Still based around being a third person cover based shooter but nothing to do with Gears.
After Gears 6, the primary team could then do a survival horror game like The Evil Within but within the Gears universe. They already have the monsters and whatnot. But instead of a team, you’re a lone wolf trying to survive. My pick would be Gabe Diaz. Gears Tactics takes place 12 years before the original trilogy. This survival horror game would take place before the original trilogy but after Gears Tactics. Don’t know if this would fit exactly with the time line and whatnot but if it does, it’s what I would like to see after Gears 6.
what’s wrong with the side stuff? I agree they should have two teams tho.
But what’s with everyone and this horror thing?
The Gears topic is really cyclical, huh? XD
IMO the series will rest long enough, more than it ever has before (biggest gaps were only three years, between 2/3 and 4/5, now I don’t expect anything before 2024-5), the Xbox platform will be in a much better position than the 8th gen and also it will launch within a gigantic GP, not an infant one like in 2019. Then we’ll see the best numbers ever for Gears, it simply suffered from the brand weakness like anything except few (like SoT or Forza), it was never a quality problem or something wrong with the IP itself.
Idk Halo, Forza, SoT all those didnt really suffer much from that brand weakness. Series “problems” are beyond the system.
