Xbox just needs good games, it doesn’t matter the genre. The only reason Halo, Gears and Forza get high scores and people are like meh is because that was the only games Xbox were mostly making last gen so people were over em. If Perfect Dark comes out and scores a 92 but is a first person game I don’t think anyone should really be complaining, if Perfect Dark came out with a 92 score and is third person people shouldn’t complain either, a good game is a good game at the end of the day.

I disagree . Different people love different genres . Why do you think this forum wants MS to make JRPGs ? Because they know that to increase market share in japan they need that specific genre as Japanese people prefer that . If there is a demand for a specific genre then MS should fulfill that demand . Even if PD gets a 95 meta , a large chunk wont give a shit because they just dont like the genre .

…person games. It makes them sick. Others just prioritize character-driven experiences. Those types of experiences can be good for building up your stable of characters to represent your brand. That said, while it should be one of the priorities, it’s not top of the list. Having a blockbuster, mega-hit in any genre is preferred to having “good” games in a genre that’s a weakness. So, for example, if The Initiative feels that their new vision is best in 1st person, that’s where it should be. Family-friendly content is their #1 opportunity. Japanese content is important to have an International appeal…even outside of Japan. These are likely bigger priorities today. I do feel they’ll eventually fulfill that 3rd person, character, and narrative-driven hole within the next couple of years.

The change of opinion isn’t super drastic. In a traditional model, I don’t think those games are super necessary from 1st party. But I’ve come to agree that they’re still a major type of game and for that reason, Microsoft will look to get some of those into Game Pass. We already see that acknowledgment with Plague Tale 2 going into the service. At this early stage, having hits is critical. As the service grows and they need to branch out, filling big gaps will become more important. Today though, there’s a lot of bigger opportunities than trying to address one genre with 1st party offerings.

I still haven’t changed my stance on Superhero games though. lol

Maybe it’s just me imagining things but it seems Psychonauts 2 looks even better with Dolby Vision?

One thing I really like is that the transition from SDR to DV now goed without any weird visual effects or flickering.

I am playing Destroy all Humans now and I am not sure if this ever had HDR but it has Dolby Vision and this looks significantly better than before, looks crisper and overall way better.

When you see playstation fans, they have profile pictures of Alloy, Ellie, Joel, Nathan Drake, Kratos, Ratchet, Rivet, among others.

When I see profiles of xbox fans there are only photos mainly of Master Chief, to a much lesser extent there are some images of Kait or Ori.
