I had to delete 3 games to fit Flight Sim on my Series X internal hard drive. I know these systems are selling out instantly but I wonder how much longer before Microsoft releases a 1tb Series S and a 2tb Series X? I pair my Series X with an 8tb usb external but even keeping Series X only games on the internal it’s become a struggle.

Series S / X and PS5 all need a revision soon. Something that would help is if the Xbox Seagate 1tb SSD got a 2tb model for $250 and the 1tb dropped to $150.

There’s been a handful of times over the past few months where NewEgg has the 1TB Seagate Expansion Card on sale with a 15% discount. So it’s $187 (instead of $220) for the drive, plus whatever regulatory taxes. At that price it’s not that bad, maybe even worth getting now instead of trying to hold out for another 6 months.

Honestly, i feel its better to wait out because might get lucky with black friday. We could also see some new partners that aren’t Seagate that will have better priced expansion

Looking good :+1:

I thought that too, but then I knew about the releases this week, where convenience and having it 4-5 months earlier was worth the extra cost. It feels so good to not have to be concerned with space. Even if the price drops down to $150 for Black-Friday then it’s only costing me $10 a month to get it early. I’m extremely fortunate to be able to afford it.

I understand everyone has their own price point to buy in. I hope for everyone’s sake that it does hit $150 on BF and they release a 2TB model soon for reasonable price.

I don’t see Series X/S or PS5 getting a true revision for at least three years and even then, I still don’t see the storage capacity increasing for any of the three consoles.

With the way these shortages are going on we arent getting no revisions of any kind any time soon I reckon.

People weren’t kidding about Hivebusters, it’s pretty much almost non stop action and I feel it has way more spectacular moments and set pieces than the main game. Some really damn cool locations too. This is Gears at its best.

I dig this new team as well.

So according to Jeff Grubb Horizon:FW has been delayed to 2022. It also just seems likely at this point.

Considering that would have been the main competition for GOTY, as a fun prediction do you guys think an Xbox FP game can get GOTY this year and which game will it be?

I actually am leaning towards Halo Infinite getting it. Forza Horizon 5 will score much better but it might not be the type of game that can win. I think the big change to the campaign style will help boost the score as well as the positive reception it has received lately.

Horizon II is not missing 2021. Book it.

That being said, FH5 easily takes racing game of the year, Halo might win multiplayer game of the year considering not many new multiplayer games came out this year.

Psyconauts 2 could win Platformer of the year, but I think that goes to R&C which won’t win GOTY because of Horizon II being in there. I think Flight Sim might get a special mention for the console version.

FInal GotY Picks at the Geoff’s

  • Horizon II (Winner)
  • Halo Infinite
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Returnal
  • Death’s Door
  • Metroid Dread (maybe?)

That’s what I think will be the GOTY picks this year at the Geoff’s with Sony walking away with GOTY again with Horizon II.

I’m with Grubb

Don’t see it.

Why, they gonna have a hard time moving consoles during the holiday? It’ll be out when it’s ready.

They are having another lockdown in the country where Guerilla games resides cuz of covid so ppl are having to work from home again. It is very possible.

I like most of your picks though. I might look at the website last yr and try and make more picks like you did.

No, Horizon II was already scheduled to launch H1 of 2021 (it might have even been a launch title pre-COVID) that was delayed to H2 2021 after COVID delay. Granted it’s probably a huge game with tons to do, but Sony bought an entire studio (Nixxes) to help bring it home.

They probably have tons of other studios not working on games working on it was well. Additionally, Aloy comes to Genshin in October. It’s not getting delayed.

So therefore, my GOTY list stands with Horizon II taking the big prize but Halo Infinite and FH5 picking up some Geoff awards, more so than last year with the addition of games like Flight Sim and and Psychonauts 2.

I see you’re going for a perfect record, putting this up there with your Abandoned picks…

Hell yeah.

ALL IN BABY.

I’ve already betted burning my gonards on a fryer if Microsoft buys Avalanche (they won’t), feeling so sure of these might try other for sure bets I won’t lose.

Maybe I start betting other body parts like in that episode of the X-Files.

Feeling good about this.
