Since you can’t make basic remasters of games that old, they would be exclusives, considering they would be essentially remakes.
@ProgStopper NightDive should refresh the other Quake games if MS/Bethesda won’t make BC versions of 2, Arena, 4 and Wars available. Mainly 2 and 3, since 4 and Wars are full blown 3d games of 7th gen, a different target from usual ND games.
It’s a basic remaster imo, I mean, the game is the 1996 one with 4K, high fps plus crossplay over the standard mp modes. Most good remasters have this type of QoL additions.
Morrowind and Oblivion are already near 4K plus 16x filtering, etc…the One X enhancements now even better on Series X, on pc you have to mod them to get a comparable version in terms of quality since, as I said, these games are ancient but in the mean time several magnitudes more complex than 90s games. You’d need an Halo 2 Anniversary treatment to make them palatable for new audiences and then they would be new games essentially.
Everything thats not legacy support to ESO, F76 (I would even make X|S enhancements exclusive for this one) and that Skyrim update that nobody knows what actual improvements It has I wouldn’t classify anything else as multiplatform. I personally wouldn’t had even bothered with Quake if the idea is to make an xbox only sequel but thats just me.
On the other hand Stuff like a hypothetical Morrowind remake (never on playstation to begin with), Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas or 3 remakes (or remasters) should never sniff another platform because then you are stretching it with the term “legacy”. So that means everything thats pre-Starfield isnt Xbox exclusive irrelevant of if xbox fully funds those games going forward? Nah
You also say matter of factly that Indy started development this year. And say that Bethesda did a press release about starting production this year. And when asked about it you ignore and move on.
I’ve seen this countless times from you. Not just about Indy but other things. You present stuff as facts and when confronted you ignore and move on.
Like Morrowind and Oblivion, Fallout 3 is already essentially remastered thanks to One X enhancements, if they can apply the same improvements to New Vegas (maybe lifting the 30fps cap), they could only make remakes, aka new games. Fallout 4 on the other hand is already a modern game, they could sell 4K60fps patch, maybe with added coop and few touches here and therr without major overhauls and that would be the dreaded legaxy. XD
I think Fable, Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, Starfield and InXile’s game will be live service like The Witcher 3 was. You get some free minor quests after launch with a few meaty paid expansions. I’m not a fan of daily/weekly quests.
If it’s a remaster like Skyrim, multi-platform easily. If it’s a full fledged remake like Resident Evil 2 then I will say that it’s exclusive. Personally, I don’t want either. I would much rather just see Bethesda Game Studios concentrate on Starfield and the next installments of The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5. I don’t want to see them waste any resources on remastering/remaking old games.
Fable is a reboot. A remake would be the first game, but reimagined with modern mechanics, basically. But the new one will be a completely new game, I’m pretty sure.
All the take 2 r* talk got me think about our own studios. Rockstar and naughty dog are always put on this pedestal and the two best studios in the industry. Do you think any of xbox current studios can eventually be seen in that light?
