Impossible deadlines and/or tiny budget. In that case there were also big interferences by SEGA. Watch this video:
Thats the only one on that Grubb list nobody kinda agreed on lol.
Also they are rumored to do 2 projects so Again It could be that.
We are just making educated guesses, Grubb has inside info. I’d rather believe in him.
I think all of those weak spots were due tu budget constraints, they even cut whole planets.
Im telling you it could be the rumored second project and not the RPG we consistently allude to here.
3 years (Wasteland 3 was released in 2020) for a big expansive AAA rpg for a team whixh never did one before is not enough imo, moreover if they are still doing a smaller project concurrently, IDK…
Jez said that Project Cobalt, the Steampunk Inxile RPG is targeting a 2023 release.
Witcher 3 was a last gen game. Cyberpunk took 5.5 years. Durations are going up. 4-5 years for Forza Horizon and Fable may be normal…And Playground is quick compared to most.
I foresee a lot of long term service games…like Assassins Creed Infinite
That’s the one according to Sponger is huge, biggest budget of XGS I believe he said and they are doing some crazy stuff for this one.
Cherry-picked and incorrect data doesn’t bode well for an argument, especially since Forza Horizon 4 released in 2018 which makes this release a total of 3 years’ worth of development time (unless I fell asleep and discovered it is in fact 2022/2023 today…).
While the last two generations saw some development balloon in cost/time, newer tools and the advent of ML applications means that it’s more likely that development time stays the same in most cases, and decreases in some.
Fable a long term service game? Well I’m not sure what to even think of AC becoming a service game. Hoping PG will just make another big Fable/RPG after Fable releases, maybe an expansion first.
I expect Avowed not to be service game, neither inXile and ToW2.
Fable most likely will have a similar thing of Horizon online coop / shared worlds, maybe scaled down because the different nature of the game and then dlcs and other smaller things like any big game, that’s it.
Yeah, you’re right. I take that one back. While I prefer they would make it 100% SP, like Witcher 3, optional co-op is ok, as long as the mission structure is like a SP game. And not something like Kingdoms of Amalur that while it was SP, it felt like MMO to me.
I’m more thinking about the next Forza Horizon. It used to be 2 years and FH5 took 3. Will the next one with turn 10s new engine take 4? IDK. I don’t see development times going down.
Absolutely. Would be a total missed opportunity to not replicate what Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon do …just in Albion.
Fable has had coop since 2, it’s no big deal.
Fable will be 2024, mark my words.
Again there is a rumor that Inxile has 2 projects and the big big rpg that everybody alludes to is not the one there for 2023.
Agreed. For those that like to play with someone else it’s great, but I’ll definitely go solo. RPG in my opinion is just a solo experience.
As long as we’re not talking about MMO or even MMO lite it’s all fine.
Fable 2 had co-op and the quest design was pretty good, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
