Xbox Game Studios |OT6| But wait, there's MORE....studios

Zero proof they started development this year.

They haven’t made a full retail AAA game since 2017

There was an announcement recently saying production on Indy had started

So you expect a 10 year hiatus between releases? What?

To return briefly to my idea,

The Outer Worlds was a spiritual successor to New Vegas (for me) with a less expensive scope. I prefer the way Obsidian makes “those types of games”. Fallout 3 was a succes at the time but I think Obsidian ran laps around them with New Vegas and TOW.

Nobody knows what’s going on with Machine. Everyone including myself they were on W3, or Quake, doesnt seem to be the case

Considering New Vegas does nothing better than 3 other than maybe writing I dont see how it runs laps around the BGS offerings lol. New Vegas is boring to explore as a whole compared to every other fallout game but if all you love is speech checks boy is that a game for you.

I like both games tho just not on that Obsidian high some are despite Avowed being my most looked forward to game.

If they are only making Indiana Jones then there’s 0 chance it comes out in 2027. If they make the rumored Quake remake or Wolfenstekn 3 in the next few years then maybe

It better than both for me and it isn’t even close, but then again I personally feel like the Fallout setting is somewhat handicapped by the particular type of post apocalyptic setting it takes place in. Many love it, but for me sci-fi and fantasy settings are never as locked down as nuclear wastelands tend to be. I agree with you that FO 4 really took the wind out of my sails for the series.

Still I’m not ready to say that BGS can’t return Fallout to glory(my opinion), how Starfield turns out will go a long way for me in determining if they can right the ship so to speak. If they’re burned out though and want to farm it out(not to Obsidian please unless they really, really want to do it) then that’s fine too.

Whoever makes FO 5 needs to shake the formula up IMO in terms of adding some fundamental changes to the lore and world state.

Indy only started dev this year. I’m firmly in the camp Machine are on something though

They said in an interview after E3 that were planning a roadmap for the two next years (but plans can always change).

Fallout in London + a story as good as New Vegas and Creation Engine 2 would shake the formula up in my opinion.

Nice to see that they not charging 70 for a next gen game it would be amazing if Xbox don’t follow Sony and raise the price.

Where? Not on the bethesda website? I’m almost positive there hasn’t been. The last press release Bethesda has done on the game is when they announced it in January. But that announcement doesn’t say when they started development. So again I say there’s no proof that it started development this year.

They will have too if other publishers start to do it, once Sony normalises it to everyone along with other publishers then it would be silly for MS not to jump on board. At the end of the day if we paying $70 for everything else but not Xbox games that would be weird and silly on MS’s part to make more money.

Pushing $70 games could increase Game Pass subs too and we know they want everyone on there beacuse of the gold price increase. The funny thing is MS had more reason to do this first because of that but I have a feeling they thought they would get huge backlash over looking like they were trying to push Game Pass subs.

I think once we hit 100% next gen only games they will increase game prices, but you know everyone is going to jump to the conclusion they’re only doing it for Game Pass even if they state the rising costs of development, the same excuse as all these other companies.

So don’t bang on too much about $70 games because it’s probably going to bite you in the ass.

The outer Worlds is that good? People placing it above Fallout 3? Sjeesh, I gotta start with ToW one of these days then, because Fallout 3 is my shit so goddamn much.

I see many people preferring New Vegas over 3 and 4. When it comes to game world I say 3 did this better. I just found it more interesting and fun to explore, some of the optional choices like Megaton, fuck I loved that.

When it comes to actual RPG elements NV did this much, much better. The many game breaking bugs ( corrupt saves, freezes) in NV didn’t help the experience though.

TOW has a structure reminescent of KOTOR 2 much more than other Obsidian games: ship->world selection->landing->central city+outskirts.

The comparison with New Vegas is a bit farfetched, Obsidian said it before launch to set expectations, but they did it to themselves when they put “from the creators of the original Fallout and the makers of New Vegas” in the reveal trailer.

I hope they’ll keep this KOTOR 2 structure with TOW 2, only with denser and more detailed worlds.

I’d love to see Xbox invest in a Marvel game, whether you like the MCU or not you can’t deny that Marvel is a perfect fit for games.

I will be highly jealous of Sony have yet another.

Edit: what about that rumoured Marvel fighting game from Netherrealm :scream:

I’d love a game based on Shang-chi, especially with the awesome martial arts and locations. Question is, which studio would do this at XGS? Sony had Insomniac handy and free for Spidey, it made sense. But all of XGS is hard at work now.
